Monticello Wine Trail Presents Special Screening of “We the Wine People” During Virginia Wine Month. Filmmaker Chrisa Giorgi and featured winemakers will join guests for an evening celebrating the people, wines, and stories shaping Virginia wine.
September 21, 2026 (Charlottesville, VA) — The Monticello Wine Trail will present a special screening of We the Wine People on Wednesday, October 7, at Violet Crown Theater in downtown Charlottesville as part of Virginia Wine Month.
Created by filmmaker Chrisa Giorgi, We the Wine People is a documentary celebrating the people, passion, and stories shaping Virginia’s evolving wine industry.
Following the screening, guests are invited to continue the evening in the Violet Crown café with an included wine tasting featuring wines from Monticello AVA wineries highlighted in the documentary. Several of the winemakers featured in the film will also be in attendance, giving guests an opportunity to meet some of the people behind the wines and stories on screen.
“Virginia Wine Month is the perfect time to celebrate the people who make our wine region what it is,” said Tracey Love, Executive Director of the Monticello Wine Trail. “This film captures so much of the community and passion behind Virginia wine, and we’re excited to bring everyone together to experience it while sharing wines from the Monticello AVA.”
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $35 per person and include both the film screening and wine tasting. Guests must be 21 or older to participate in the wine tasting.
