“Nazzareno Pola – Founder’s Label Dirupo”: A Selection That Embodies Andreola’s Vision of the Valdobbiadene DOCG Appellation

September 14, 2026 (Treviso, Italy) — For Andreola, the Valdobbiadene DOCG appellation has always been a landscape to be interpreted through observation and selection. Nazzareno Pola Etichetta del Fondatore Dirupo reflects this approach, bringing together the winery’s experience across different vineyard sites into a wine that evolves with each vintage while maintaining a clear stylistic continuity.

Rather than being linked to a single fixed vineyard, the wine originates each year from the site that shows the most balanced and complete expression of the harvest. This method follows the intuition of founder Nazzareno Pola, who placed particular importance on observing the behavior of different vineyard areas before defining the final wine. Within an appellation characterised by a high degree of geological and climatic diversity, this approach allows the wine to adapt to each vintage while preserving coherence and identity.

The Valdobbiadene hills present a complex and fragmented landscape. Soils range from calcareous marls to sandstone and more evolved formations, while vineyard altitudes extend from around 200 up to 500 meters above sea level. Exposure, slope and ventilation vary significantly from one site to another, influencing both the ripening process and the structure of the grapes. In many of these areas, steep gradients make mechanisation impossible, requiring entirely manual work throughout the growing season.

Within this context, the Etichetta del Fondatore represents an additional level of selection within Andreola’s production. It is conceived as a way to identify, vintage by vintage, the vineyard that best interprets the balance between elegance, structure and drinkability that defines the winery’s style. Beginning with the 2023 harvest, this selection has been specifically associated with the Rive di Santo Stefano, the area that most closely matched these criteria for that year.

The Extra Dry style contributes to this balance, supporting a profile that combines softness and structure with freshness and a measured aromatic expression. The wine shows a fine, continuous perlage and a composed aromatic profile, with floral and white fruit notes integrated into a rounded and persistent palate.

Founded in 1984 in Col San Martino, Andreola has built its identity through a close relationship with the hillside vineyards of the Valdobbiadene DOCG appellation. From the outset, the winery has focused on understanding the specific characteristics of each site, combining manual vineyard work with careful cellar practices.

Over time, this approach has led to a production model centred on variability rather than standardisation, where each wine reflects a precise reading of both place and vintage. The Etichetta del Fondatore fits within this framework as a synthesis of this method, linking the selection of the vineyard to a broader continuity of style.

More than representing a single origin, the wine brings together the winery’s experience across the territory, maintaining a direct connection to its founding vision while adapting to the conditions of each harvest.

About Andreola Winery
Located in the heart of the Valdobbiadene DOCG area, with 110 hectares of vineyards, 900,000 bottles sold in over 35 countries and nearly 40 years of history, Andreola has become a symbol of heroic viticulture in Valdobbiadene DOCG, producing wines that are literally “handmade,” reflecting a constant commitment to quality-driven research. The winery stands out for its manual work in the vineyards, an essential practice on the steep hillsides of this region, where the harvest is marked by the presence of unique pulley systems used to transport the grapes. Andreola’s production focuses primarily on the Glera grape variety, alongside a small percentage of native vines found in older vineyards and includes a range of labels, among them the Rive Line, featuring the largest number of Rive in the Valdobbiadene DOCG category.
