Wente Family Estates Announces Appointment of Peter Yeung as Chief Executive Officer

Yeung’s appointment coincides with several key updates to Wente’s senior leadership team

July 23, 2026 (Livermore Valley, CA)Wente Family Estates, the country’s longest continuously family-owned and operated winery, today announced the appointment of Peter Yeung as Chief Executive Officer. Yeung, who has served as the company’s interim CEO since January, transitions into the permanent role effective immediately.

During his brief but productive tenure as interim CEO, Yeung successfully guided the historic estate’s strategic operations, reinforcing Wente Family Estates’ position as an industry leader in sustainable winegrowing, quality winemaking, and market innovation. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Yeung served on the winery’s advisory board, providing valuable counsel to the company’s senior leadership team.

Prior to joining Wente Family Estates, Yeung established himself as a prominent voice and strategist in the wine industry. He is the co-author of the highly acclaimed book Luxury Wine Marketing, co-host of the wine business podcast XChateau, and has held senior leadership and advisory roles at several prestigious estates including Realm and Kosta Browne, serving as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for both labels. Yeung’s reputation for increasing revenue growth and fueling innovation was recognized when he was named one of Wine Business Monthly’s Wine Industry Leaders in 2020.

Yeung’s appointment comes on the heels of several important updates to the senior leadership team, including fifth generation winegrower Aly Wente’s appointment to the role of Chief Revenue Officer and fifth generation winegrower Karl Wente’s new role as Chief Operating Officer. Other members of the fifth generation of the Wente family continue to serve in leadership roles, including Niki Wente as Director of Viticulture, Jordan Wente as Senior Brand Ambassador, and Christine Wente as Chair of the Board. The fourth generation of the Wente family, Eric, Phil, and Carolyn, continue to provide wise counsel as current and past members of the Board of Directors.

In addition, Dave Colo remains a Board Advisor for the winery. As CEO, Yeung will oversee all aspects of Wente Family Estates’ operations, including viticulture, winemaking, global sales, marketing, and hospitality for its diverse portfolio of brands, which includes Wente Vineyards, Murrieta’s Well, and the newly launched Cresta Blanca, whose debut Yeung oversaw in May 2026.
