“Unified has always been about bringing the industry together to tackle challenges and explore opportunities,” said Natalie Collins, president of the California Association of Winegrape Growers and co-host of the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium. “As we celebrate 33 years, we wanted to offer something special that encourages early registration and makes it even easier for industry members to take part in these important conversations.
“Whether you work in the vineyard, the cellar or the lab, the Unified gives you a direct line to the people and ideas shaping the year ahead,” said Dan Howard, executive director of the American Society for Enology and Viticulture and co-host of the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium. “We hope the flash sale makes it easier for more of the industry to be in the room in January.”
A Look at the 2027 Program
The Unified Symposium returns to the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center with three days of educational sessions, an expansive two-day trade show and opportunities to connect with professionals from across the industry. The program will focus on timely insights, emerging technologies and strategies to help businesses adapt and plan for what’s ahead.
Wine economist Mike Veseth will deliver the opening-day keynote on Jan. 26, offering a global perspective on the economic forces reshaping the wine industry and what they mean for growers, wineries, and wine businesses. Veseth, professor emeritus of international political economy at the University of Puget Sound and author of “Wine Wars,” has moderated Unified’s State of the Industry general session for many years.
The upcoming State of the Industry will feature engagement with attendees who will be asked to submit questions in real time throughout the session. Moderator Cathy Huyghe, co-founder and CEO of Enolytics, will guide the questions and discussions.
The Jan. 27-28 trade show will showcase equipment, technology, products and services for vineyards and wineries, giving attendees an opportunity to connect directly with suppliers and discover solutions for their operations, all under one roof.
The Unified Symposium will also offer networking opportunities built around conversations, food and wines from American Viticultural Areas throughout the United States.
A Spanish-language workshop returns Jan. 28. Presented in Spanish by industry professionals from California and Mexico, “Creativity and Cultural Diversity: Redefining the Future of Wine” will explore how creative thinking, emerging technologies and diverse voices are shaping the way wine is produced, marketed and sold.
The 2027 program is being developed under the leadership of co-Chairs Susan Owen of G3 Enterprises and Ed Feuchuk of Tank Garage Winery and Farm Collective Napa Valley, with input from industry experts representing a broad range of disciplines. The program will feature more than 18 sessions covering key issues, emerging trends, and opportunities across the wine industry.
The 2027 Unified Wine & Grape Symposium takes place Jan. 26-28 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento, with the trade show open Jan. 27-28.
