July 10, 2026 — Presented by the Maryland Wineries Association, the now sold-out event will welcome hundreds of wine enthusiasts to Celebrations At The Barnhouse in Upper Marlboro on Sunday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests will enjoy tastings from wineries across the state, local food, wine-based cocktails, community partners, and the opportunity to meet the people behind the bottles.
Unlike traditional winery experiences centered around a vineyard or tasting room, Wineries Without Walls highlights producers who bring their wines directly to consumers. Many of the participating wineries do not operate public tasting rooms, making the event a rare opportunity to discover their wines, hear their stories, and purchase bottles directly from the makers.
“The tasting room is where you make it,” said Cyndi Campbell, event organizer and co-owner of Narcisso Wine Cellar. “Maryland is home to incredible wine producers, but not every winery has a traditional tasting room or destination property. Wineries Without Walls creates a space where these makers can connect directly with consumers while giving guests the chance to discover wines they may not otherwise encounter.”
Highlights of Wineries Without Walls include:
- Tastings from Maryland wineries including Bobesa Wines, Kingfisher Cellars, Misfit Winery, Narcisso Wine Cellar, Operation Bubbles, Rose Garden Wines, Seven22 Wine Company, The Crossvines, and more
- Guided food and wine pairing experiences featuring curated bites from local partners; additional pairing sessions were added after the initial offering sold out and also reached capacity
- A Cocktail Lounge featuring wine-based cocktails and refreshing mocktails
- Opportunities to meet winemakers and producers from across Maryland
- Bottle sales, giveaways, prizes, and experiences from participating community partners
- A complimentary tasting glass and wine tote for guests to take home
The sold-out response to the inaugural event reflects growing interest in discovering Maryland wine beyond the traditional tasting-room experience and connecting directly with the people behind the bottles.
