December 10, 2025 (Stockholm, Sweden) — Star Wine List is the guide to the world’s best wine bars and restaurants, based on the recommendations of expert ambassadors in more than 45 countries. Often referred to as the Michelin guide of the wine world, it has today announced wine writer Aleks Zečević as its new Austria Ambassador. He’s added 17 Red Stars to the listings.

Accessible via its website and app, Star Wine List guides wine lovers to the places with the very best wine lists, all over the world. Based between New York and Vienna, Aleks Zečević is a Serbian wine writer specialising in the wines of Central Europe, who has worked for the likes of Wine Spectator and, currently, Wine Enthusiast.
“I really have noticed a big jump in wine culture and the diversity of this wine culture,” he says of Austria. He also notes the widespread adoption of natural wine and wines made through organic methods and similar, which means that there is now “a really big breadth of things that you can taste and experience there. So it’s really cool.”
In his first dispatch for Star Wine List, he has reviewed 17 wine destinations, seven of which are located in Vienna, with 10 more across the country. Read the full interview on Star Wine List.
