McMinnville, Oregon — December 1, 2025 — The Center for Wine Education at Linfield University has launched the WSET Club Program, a new initiative designed to enrich the wine community by creating an accessible pathway to world-class wine education.
Through the WSET Club Program, wineries can offer their wine club members discounted Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) certifications through Linfield University. In return, participating wineries earn complimentary WSET courses for staff. The globally recognized Level 1–3 certifications are available online or in person at the Linfield McMinnville and Chemeketa Salem campuses, and in Hood River and Walla Walla, Washington.
About half of Linfield’s WSET Level 1 participants are enthusiastic consumers eager to learn more. The program channels that interest into opportunities that support wineries’ goals for education, retention and customer experience, while helping build more knowledgeable and confident staff.
“We see education as the proverbial ‘high tide’ that raises all ships and are excited to provide such an important resource to our community in a way that benefits all,” said Trevor Hertrich, WSET program manager at Linfield University.
WSET qualifications are among the most respected in the world, providing a strong foundation in wine styles, regions, tasting and service. Incorporating these learning opportunities into wine club benefits allows wineries to add tangible value for members and elevate hospitality through staff training.
The WSET Club Program underscores Linfield’s commitment to expanding access to wine education and strengthening the Pacific Northwest wine community through collaboration.
