Kosmic Kitty Wines Earns National Recognition in Wine Spectator’s November 2025 Issue

October 9, 2025 (Rolling Hills, CA) —  Family-owned Kosmic Kitty Wines, the vibrant California brand known for its expressive style, playful energy, and accessible pricing, has been recognized in the November 15, 2025 issue of Wine Spectator. In the magazine’s “West Coast Values” feature, part of Bruce Sanderson’s popular Savvy Shopper column, Kosmic Kitty is spotlighted among standout wines from California, Oregon, and Washington that deliver “expressive flavors at affordable prices.”

Two Kosmic Kitty releases earned praise in the publication’s tasting report:
Kosmic Kitty Pinot Grigio California 2023 – 87 Points ($12)
“Lemon zest, lime juice, pomelo, yuzu, lemon verbena; juicy, fruity.”

Kosmic Kitty Sauvignon Blanc California 2023 – 86 Points ($12)
“Lemon zest, pear, green apple, lime leaf, lemon basil; light, soft, zingy.”

According to Wine Spectator’s official guide, wines scoring 85–89 points are rated “Very Good” — wines with special qualities.

These Wine Spectator honors come on the heels of additional national acclaim:

  • The Tasting Panel Magazine awarded 92 points to both the Kosmic Kitty Pinot Noir California 2023 and Kosmic Kitty Pinot Grigio California 2023, praising their “vibrant fruit character, clean balance, and irresistible drinkability.”
  • Wine Enthusiast recognized the Kosmic Kitty Sauvignon Blanc 2023 and Kosmic Kitty Pinot Noir 2023 with 90-point “Best Buy” ratings in its Best of the Year 2025 issue, commending the brand for “delivering serious quality with a sense of fun.”

The article places Kosmic Kitty alongside some of the West Coast’s most respected value-driven producers, reinforcing the brand’s mission to deliver “cosmically good wine at down-to-earth prices.”

“Our goal with Kosmic Kitty has always been to make wines that are bright, flavorful, and full of life—just like the people who enjoy them,” said Greg Popovich, founder of Castle Rock Winery and creator of the Kosmic Kitty brand. “We wanted to create something that speaks to a new generation of wine drinkers—fun, approachable, and full of personality.”

“These wines are crafted with a spirit of fun and approachability, and with the same dedication to quality that drives all of our winemaking,” added Meghan Daniels, winemaker for Kosmic Kitty Wines. “Kosmic Kitty offers an entry point that’s exciting, genuine, and accessible to everyone.”

Kosmic Kitty’s bold packaging, modern design, and lively flavor profiles have made it especially popular with younger consumers who value both quality and creativity in what they drink.

“This recognition from Wine SpectatorThe Tasting Panel, and Wine Enthusiast means a lot to our team and our community,” said Adriana Popovich, Director of Social Media for Kosmic Kitty Wines. “It proves that family-owned brands can connect with a new generation while staying true to their roots.”
