October 2, 2025 (Johnson City, TX) — Texas Hill Country Wineries (THCW) has partnered with Texas-based VineSleuth/Wine4.Me to launch the Texas Hill Country Wineries Wine Style Selector, a first-of-its-kind interactive tool that helps wine drinkers discover Texas wines matched to their unique flavor preferences.
This innovative tool debuts just in time for Texas Wine Month and allows wine lovers to explore more than 26 Texas-grown grape varieties in a whole new way. By adjusting simple sliders to indicate their preferred levels of sweetness, fruit, acidity, oak, minerality, and more, users are instantly shown the top three grape varieties that match their palate. Shoppers and tasters can also select a grape to reveal its Texas-specific flavor profile—making wine exploration approachable, fast, and fun.
Built using sensory science and expert input from Cornell researchers, winemakers, and wine educators, the Wine Style Selector draws from a robust database of 180+ Texas wines that have been flavor-mapped to ensure scientifically backed, accurate matches.
“This new partnership between Texas Hill Country Wineries and VineSleuth/Wine4.Me will enable even more discovery and enjoyment of Texas wines,” said January Wiese, Executive Director of Texas Hill Country Wineries. “Texas makes excellent wines. Now anyone can find the best wines for them, personally, thanks to this tool.”
“With so many grape varieties grown in Texas, and unique growing conditions shaping their flavors, understanding them all can be a challenge,” added Amy Gross, CEO of VineSleuth/Wine4.Me. “This tool changes that and makes wine discovery simple and exciting for everyone.”

Each result also includes a “Learn More” button, which links directly to the list of Texas Hill Country wineries producing those grape varieties—making it easy for wine lovers to discover and visit wineries that craft the wines best suited to their tastes.
Texas wineries are also integrating the tool into tasting room experiences with QR codes, as well as adding direct links from their websites. The THCW website now features the tool as a central way to help visitors navigate Texas wines with confidence.
With no other wine region in the United States offering such an immediate, science-backed wine style selector, this launch positions Texas Hill Country at the forefront of consumer-friendly wine innovation. For more information about Texas Hill Country Wineries, visit TexasHillCountryWineries.org.
