Cavazza Celebrates Autumn with Creari Gambellara Classico DOC

A Rare and Enveloping White Wine, Born from a Unique Terroir

September 4, 2025 (Montebello Vicentino, Italy) — Autumn is the season of warm colors, slower rhythms and small joys that warm the heart. A time of harmony, when nature invites us to savor intimate and cherished moments. It is in this setting that Cavazza presents the perfect wine to accompany the coziest season of the year: Creari Gambellara Classico DOC, a white wine of great personality, produced in limited quantities and capable of evolving beautifully over time.

A wine that encapsulates the character of a unique terroir. Creari takes its name from the hillside where it is born, the only calcareous subzone within the Gambellara DOC – a rare island in a territory that is otherwise 96% volcanic. These distinctive soils – already highlighted in the zoning studies of the early 2000s – make this wine a true outlier in the denomination. Here, Garganega takes on a different expression: complex, age-worthy, and a true reflection of the richness of the area’s “calcareous islands.”

“For us, Creari is the perfect synthesis of memory and uniqueness,” explains Elisa Cavazza“It is a wine that originates in a singular corner of our appellation and, thanks to its structure and aging potential, becomes a gastronomic white, ideal for accompanying the most authentic moments of autumn.”

Late harvest and hand-picking in the second half of October, skin contact, fermentation at controlled temperature, and six months of aging on the lees with regular bâtonnage, followed by extended bottle maturation: these are the steps that shape the elegance of Creari. Produced only in the best vintages and in just 5,000 bottles, it expresses both aromatic complexity and a vibrant, gastronomic tension.

On the nose, it opens with ripe and tropical fruit notes, enriched with spicy nuances such as saffron and licorice; on the palate, it combines softness and freshness, lifted by a striking mineral backbone that ensures longevity. It is no coincidence that Cavazza is now releasing the 2020 vintage, a clear testament to its natural vocation for evolution over time.

If red wines are traditionally associated with autumn, Cavazza chooses to surprise with an enveloping and rare white: a truly “hygge” wine, capable of offering a sense of deep and intimate well-being, glass after glass.

About Cavazza
The Cavazza farm was founded in 1928 in Montebello Vicentino. Since then, it has been one of the most important producers of Garganega grapes grown in the Gambellara Classico DOC area, a small appellation located on an ancient extinct volcano, which still today gives a particular character to the wines produced there. In the 1980s, the family decided to focus on another area, the Colli Berici, which is of marine origin and suitable for the production of distinctive red wines from both native grapes such as Tai Rosso and international varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, there are 130 hectares of vineyards in the two appellations, producing 600,000 bottles. The company is SQNPI certified and is very focused on preserving biodiversity and using renewable energy resources.
