Brand New Pairing Offered in New York State’s Stunning Finger Lakes Region.
July 29, 2025 (Watkins Glen, NY) — The Seneca Lake Wine Trail and the Finger Lakes Rail Experience are thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership set to redefine travel and tasting in the heart of New York’s renowned wine country. Just launched, this collaboration offers guests an immersive, nostalgic journey that pairs scenic rail travel with exclusive access to the wineries of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail—creating a one-of-a-kind experience that connects visitors to the region’s breathtaking landscapes, acclaimed wines, and rich history.
The Finger Lakes Rail Experience is offering curated rail rides aboard vintage train cars along the historic rail line between the towns of Canandaigua, Geneva, and Seneca Falls throughout the summer. Wine rides feature wine tastings from a rotating selection of Seneca Lake producers, food, and breathtaking views.

The Finger Lakes Rail Experience, a new heritage rail initiative in the region, has brought this vintage 1940s passenger railcar to the region for the first time. Seneca Lake Wine Trail promotes member producers within the Seneca Lake AVA, one of just two recognized appellations within New York’s Finger Lakes. This collaboration with the Wine Trail adds a luxurious and leisurely layer to the experience—appealing to wine tourists, rail enthusiasts, and first-time visitors alike.
