Two-Week Countdown Is on: Pashey Wines to Pour at Inaugural Method Oregon Grand Tasting

July 11, 2025 (Newberg, OR)Pashey Wines, the sparkling wine division of Trisaetum Winery in Oregon’s Ribbon Ridge AVA, will be among the featured wineries pouring at Method Oregon, the state’s highly anticipated inaugural sparkling wine grand tasting. The event takes place on Saturday, July 26 at Domaine Willamette, bringing together 22 of Oregon’s finest sparkling wine producers.

Founded in 2014 by winemaker and artist James Frey, Pashey Wines honors Frey’s late grandmother, Pashey Chapman Nugent, and her legacy of perseverance and strength. Known for crafting elegant méthode traditionnelle sparklers from estate-grown fruit, Pashey was selected among a prestigious group of producers whose wines meet Method Oregon’s rigorous criteria: Oregon-grown grapes, traditional method production, and a minimum of 15 months tirage aging.

Attendees will have the rare opportunity to taste four of Pashey’s acclaimed bottlings:

  • 2021 Coast Range Blanc de Blancs
  • 2021 Ribbon Ridge Blanc de Blancs
  • 2021 Pinot Meunier (a special single-varietal cuvée)
  • 2021 Brut Rosé

“I can’t wait to take in all the excitement of Method Oregon,” said Frey. “It’s rare to get this many sparkling enthusiasts in one room—let alone 22 fantastic Oregon producers all pouring under one roof.”

Who is Pashey?
Born in the English countryside during WWI, Pashey Chapman overcame social barriers that once denied her access to formal education. Her story—one of defying expectations and forging your own path—inspired her grandson James Frey to name his sparkling wine label in her honor. On what would have been her 100th birthday, Frey and his family launched Pashey Wines to commemorate her legacy.

All Pashey wines are crafted from estate-grown fruit, sourced from:

  • Ribbon Ridge Estate Vineyard – 17 acres planted in 2007 on high-quartz marine sandstones unique to the AVA (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling)
  • Coast Range Estate Vineyard – 22 acres planted in 2005 on ancient volcanic and marine sedimentary soils (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling)

While most Pashey wines are crafted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, the 2021 Pinot Meunier cuvée is a rare exception and a special highlight for Method Oregon guests. Tickets & Experiences are available at methodoregon.com
