Bouchaine Vineyards Awarded ‘Best of Wine Tourism’ Honor by Great Wine Capitals Global Network

October 8, 2026 (Napa, CA) — Bouchaine Vineyards has been awarded a “Best of Wine Tourism” award by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network. One of Wine Country’s most celebrated destinations, the winery was named the 2027 Napa Valley/Bay Area regional winner in the “Innovative Wine Tourism Experience” category. The award recognizes Bouchaine’s unique tasting and visitor experiences, designed to educate and delight guests through exceptional hospitality rooted in the belief that “Wine Makes You Happy™,” the winery’s trademarked motto.

Bouchaine will represent Napa Valley and the Bay Area in the global competition, sharing its 2023 Estate Pinot Noir with attendees at the Great Wine Capitals Annual General Meeting in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, where international winners will be announced this October. Made by President and Winemaker Chris Kajani, the cool-climate Pinot Noir is a blend of clones from Bouchaine’s 104-acre sustainably farmed estate vineyard in Napa’s Carneros AVA. The site overlooks the San Francisco Bay, where cool maritime breezes and fog create wines with vibrant flavors and distinct texture.

“We’re thrilled to receive this recognition from the Great Wine Capitals Global Network,” says David Eriksen, Director of Direct-to-Consumer at Bouchaine Vineyards. “So much thought goes into our guest programming because we see every visitor who walks through our door as an opportunity to build a lasting relationship, not just with Bouchaine, but with Napa Valley and the broader world of wine. That big-picture thinking comes from our Proprietor and Chairman, Tatiana Copeland, who has championed Bouchaine as a place where people can gather, celebrate and share in the beauty of nature, wine, music and art.”

Napa Valley is one of eleven members of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network, alongside Adelaide, Bilbao/Rioja, Bordeaux, Hawke’s Bay, Lausanne, Mainz/Rheinhessen, Mendoza, Porto, Valparaíso/Casablanca Valley and Verona. The network is dedicated to fostering economic, academic and cultural exchange among the world’s most famous wine regions while supporting international wine tourism.

Bouchaine’s unique offerings include “Falconry in the Garden,” where guests get up close with the falcons used in the vineyard to mitigate bird damage and protect its grapes, and “Vine to Vessel,” a tasting that walks guests through Bouchaine’s focus on high touch viticulture followed by a tasting that compares wines aged in clay amphora, French oak and concrete egg vessels.

Bouchaine’s new tasting room features a demonstration kitchen, outdoor terrace, fire pits and beautifully landscaped gardens. This fall, Bouchaine will debut a state-of-the-art wine cave designed by Backen & Backen Architecture and built by Wright Contracting. The space will serve as both a barrel-aging facility and a hospitality venue unlike anything else in Carneros, opening onto a courtyard with panoramic vineyard views over the bay that welcome everything from intimate dinners to larger gatherings.

About Bouchaine Vineyards
Bouchaine was founded by Gerret and Tatiana Copeland, and under their attentive stewardship, it has emerged as one of the Carneros AVA’s most respected producers of sustainably farmed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The estate is comprised of 104 acres, including a dramatic winery, stunning tasting room and state-of-the-art kitchen. The vineyards at Bouchaine are greatly influenced by the adjacent San Pablo Bay, where cool breezes and the daily influx of fog allow cool-climate varieties to shine. The location’s substantial daily temperature shifts also help to enhance the beautiful acidity in the fruit, resulting in wines with vivid energy and texture. Noted as the first “Fish Friendly Farming” certified vineyard in Napa Valley, the winery is also Napa Green land and winery certified. If one sentence can encapsulate the energy of Bouchaine, it is the winery’s trademarked slogan, “Wine Makes You Happy™.”
