March 28th – David Abreu and Trinchero Family Estates today announced an innovative alliance surrounding Abreu’s Napa  Valley vineyards. David Abreu is Napa Valley’s premiere viticulturist and Trinchero Family Estates is the world’s  second-largest family-owned winery, founded in Napa Valley over 75 years ago. Abreu and TFE will be partners  in growing and crafting wines from all four of the vineyards that Abreu owns in the Napa Valley. The partnership will commence with the 2024 vintage and will set the stage for a future luxury wine project  between Abreu and Trinchero Family Estates.

Abreu is a third-generation rancher who founded Abreu Vineyards in 1980 and has been extremely influential  in elevating the quality of wines in Napa Valley through his meticulous style of viticulture in terms of both site  selection and farming practices. He owns four vineyard sites – Madrona Ranch, Thorevilos, Cappella and Las  Posadas which span Howell Mountain and St. Helena appellations. He farms over 85 acres of pristine vineyards  that are known for producing some of Napa’s most collectible wines. David Abreu commented, “This is very  exciting. We look forward to partnering with the Trincheros, who have been so committed and engaged within  the Napa Valley.”

Trinchero Family Estates remains proudly family-owned and committed to building its portfolio with like minded producers. TFE has grown its luxury capabilities and portfolio significantly in recent years. In 2017 a  state-of-the-art facility was created at TFE’s St. Helena site to focus on luxury winemaking. The history and  resources of TFE will provide an operational foundation from which the Abreu family can continue to focus on  cultivating and maintaining extraordinary vineyard sites and wines that come from those sites which will  remain under Abreu ownership. TFE CEO Bob Torkelson commented, “This alliance is one that Trinchero is very  proud of, and indicative of our commitment to steadily growing our luxury capabilities with important partners  such as David Abreu and his family.”

Abreu and his family will continue to produce their acclaimed Abreu wines which are not part of the TFE  portfolio. This unique partnership signifies a shared commitment to excellence and innovation in the wine  industry while respecting distinct brands and legacies.
