ROSEBURG, Ore., Jan 28, 2023 – This past fall, Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards helped raise over $16,000 for several local churches and charities through their volunteer harvester program. Since 2004, Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards has partnered with community members during harvest… donating funds typically paid to seasonal workers to local charities and churches. To date, Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards has contributed nearly a quarter million dollars for nonprofits and Christian missions both locally and abroad.

The annual harvest begins in September, where picking starts at early morning and concludes at noon with a complimentary lunch and wine tasting. Many committed harvesters have participated for over 15 years, some even traveling from outside Roseburg to join the harvest. Carly Mauch, a volunteer with Hope Clinic recalled, “Not only did they provide lunch and have coffee and snacks at the mid-morning break each day, but we also spent time getting to know many of their wine club members, many of whom are friends.”

This year’s harvest resulted in the $16,000 donation. $4,000 was allocated to various local churches, with the remaining funds distributed to the Molly McGinnis Foundation, Grace Hispanic Northwest, Compass Home Education, and Hope Clinic for Women.

In previous years, dedicated volunteers raised thousands of dollars for causes not only in the local community, but also extending their support to places like India, Mexico, and Romania.  “It’s truly rewarding to witness people making a positive impact on others,” shared Gloria Reustle. “This effort is about our community coming together to support each other and extend that support throughout Douglas County and beyond.”
