11/8/2023 – Saint Helena, CA – Beginning November 9, wine enthusiasts can bid on exceptional wine and experience lots as part of Collective Napa Valley’s Fine Wines and Experiences Auction powered by Sotheby’s. Proceeds will go to the Forest Health Initiative benefiting the Napa Valley community through urgent wildfire and environmental stewardship efforts in the areas of fire prevention, mitigation and restoration.

Included in The Napa Valley Fine Wines and Experiences Auction are 50 special offerings directly from Napa Valley wineries. Additionally, this auction will offer the opportunity to bid on unique experiences that provide unparalleled Napa Valley hospitality among the natural beauty of the region.

Lot highlights include:

  • Large format bottles from Cardinale, Lamborn Family Vineyards, Screaming Eagle, Saint Helena Winery and more.
  • Verticals of wine from Barlow Vineyards, Darioush, Jones Family Vineyards and Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery among others.
  • Group lots from Amici Cellars and Titus Vineyards, Spring Mountain District, Behrens Family Winery and Relic Wine Cellars and several more.
  • Overnight stays in winery private accommodations at Baldacci Family Vineyards and B Cellars.
  • Tasting and harvest experiences with winemakers at Chateau Boswell Winery, Chimney Rock Winery, Gallica and St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery and many others.
  • Dining with owners Robin and Jon Lail of Lail Vineyards, Cyril and Blakesley Chappellet of Chappellet Vineyards, David R. Duncan of Silver Oak and Alycia Mondavi of Aloft Wines.

This critical initiative will fund two key organizations, Napa Resource Conversation District and Napa Communities Firewise Foundation. Collaboratively, they are working to rebuild and maintain fire roads, plant the right trees in the right places and provide community education.

As a result of last year’s fall fundraising campaign in which $2.1 million was raised for forest health projects, the following developments have already taken place: 41.5 miles of fire road improvements have been completed, 178 acres of wildfire-resilient habitat projects have been implemented with another 122 acres identified and more than 1,300 Napa County residents have been educated on how to enhance their properties for wildfire resilience.

The auction will reach a global audience by way of Sotheby’s, a trusted source for fine wine and spirits. Nick Pegna, Sotheby’s Global Head of Wine and Spirits, commented: “It is a privilege for Sotheby’s to stage this prestigious wine auction to benefit the Napa Valley Vintners Forest Health Initiative. We look forward to presenting these exceptional experiences in the spirit of coming together to do good and preserve Napa Valley for future generations.”

Bidding opens on Thursday, November 9 at 9 a.m. PST/12 p.m. EST and closes Monday, November 20 starting at 12 p.m. PST/3 p.m. EST. Those wishing to make a direct donation to the cause can contribute to Fund-A-Need.
