Viña Concha y Toro Surges to Record-Breaking Growth in First Quarter

(Santiago, Chile, May 9, 2024) Viña Concha y Toro has shattered expectations with a phenomenal surge in sales, skyrocketing by an impressive 26.4% to CLP 200,170 million, accompanied by an astounding 304% leap in profit to CLP 12,740 million in the first quarter of 2024. This monumental Q1 achievement signals a remarkable turnaround for the company, overcoming the adversities of the global wine industry in 2023.

In the US market, Viña Concha y Toro experienced a sales increase of 36.7%, driven by a strategic premiumization approach that propelled premium and plus categories to a robust global growth of 23.3%. Leading the charge were flagship brands Frontera, Trivento, and Casillero del Diablo, which boasted an exceptional year-on-year surge of 33.2%.

“In just a short time, we’ve achieved extraordinary milestones in the US with our sales and volumes surging by double digits,” declared Allison Wetsel, Concha y Toro’s US President of Sales. “This remarkable turn-around is a testament to the dedication and passion of every individual within our team and distributor partners, united behind our vision and unwavering in our commitment to quality, excellence, and innovation. CEO Eduardo Guilisasti attributed this outstanding performance to the company’s proactive measures implemented since September 2022 amidst global challenges, coupled with an improving international economic landscape. “Viña Concha y Toro has undergone a remarkable transformation,” Guilisasti declared. “We’ve adapted swiftly, becoming more resilient, agile, and consumer-centric. While the industry continues to navigate uncertainties, our relentless pursuit of excellence has set us apart.”
