31st Annual Hands Across the Valley Raises over $490,000

October 30, 2023, Napa Valley, CA – Over $490,000 was raised at the 31st Annual Hands Across the Valley, held September 16th at the historic Charles Krug Winery in St. Helena, Napa Valley. 

Over 400 guests enjoyed a reception featuring noted Napa Valley chefs, restaurateurs and winemakers, followed by a seated dinner provided by Chef Elaine Bell, a live auction, and dancing under the stars to one of the Bay Area’s most sought-after bands, the Time Bandits. Special guests included former California Governor Jerry Brown and wife Anne Brown, former SF Giants bench coach Ron Wotus, and former San Francisco 49er cornerback Eric Wright. 

A special tribute to baseball legend and longtime Hands Across the Valley supporter Vida Blue was presented by Former KTVU Sports Director Mark Ibanez.

Co-Emcees Bob Sarlatte and Mark Ibanez entertained the guests while the entertaining Liam Mayclem, KCBS’ Foodie Chap, led the live auction raising paddles and money to feed the hungry. Live auction highlights included a French River cruise for two with vintner Jean-Charles Boisset, a Napa Valley Car Club Exotic Car experience for four couples, a luncheon for six at the Napa Valley Reserve, a 10-bottle magnum vertical of Beckstoffer Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignons donated by Andy Beckstoffer, and two Wine Barrels donated by Frank D’ Ambrosio of D’Ambrosio Vineyards.

In its 31-year history, Hands Across the Valley has raised millions to benefit the Napa Valley’s safety-net food programs, including the Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, The Table, Feeding it Forward, Molly’s Angels and a variety of other non-profit programs.
