Long Island Wine Country Toasts to 50 Years of Winemaking with Grand Celebration Anniversary Event

July 14th – Long Island Wine Country will host a Grand Celebration event at Peconic Bay Vineyards on August 19th to  celebrate its 50th Anniversary as a wine region, highlighting the commitment to quality, innovationsustainability, and community that growers and winemakers have cultivated over the last half century. The Grand Celebration will pay tribute to the rich agrarian heritage of the East End and ticket sales will  raise funds for collaborative initiatives dedicated to advancing viticulture, sustainable agriculture, and  community relations. Over 25+ dedicated winemakers and industry pioneers from the East End will  gather to commemorate the occasion by pouring wines for their guests—including both wine  professionals and wine enthusiasts alike.

Gastronomic delights prepared with ingredients from local farms by the region’s top purveyors and culinary talents will accompany the diverse wine styles of Long Island’s varied terroirs to create tailored  food pairing experiences. From traditional méthode champenoise sparkling wine to pet-nat, white wines  that exude “maritime minerality” to age-worthy reds (including a selection of rare library wines from the  finest vintages), each wine style will have specially crafted dishes designed to highlight the best that  Long Island has to offer.
