Vouvray Wines Featured Prominently at Aspen Food & Wine Classic

An undiscovered treasure of the Loire Valley region, the Vouvray wine appellation will be showcased as an integral part of the Aspen Food & Wine Classic, held June 16th– 18th. With 31 wines presented at tasting sessions aimed both at trade professionals and consumers alike, as well as spotlight events such as the Aspen Asada Cookout at the Top of The Mountain, Vouvray promises to be a distinctive presence at this key industry event.

Aspen, Colorado, June 6th, 2023 –   As part of their ongoing brand campaign, a contingent from the Vouvray AOC is exhibiting at the Aspen Food & Wine Classic, an annual festival for industry professionals and wine enthusiasts.  With 31 wines from 15 vineyards, the delegation will provide an excellent snapshot of the appellation, notable for using exclusively chenin blanc grapes. This single grape variety allows Vouvray winegrowers to produce a full range of wine styles : dry, semi-dry and sweet still wines, and sparkling wines, ever popular with American consumers.

The Classic is the ideal event to highlight this unique diversity, particularly through the tasting events organized throughout the weekend. Vouvray wines will have 6 tables for both the consumer-focused Grand Tasting sessions and during the trade-exclusive tastings, held every day of the event.  The 31 wines available include 12 sparkling, 12 dry, 6 semi-dry and one sweet (dessert) wine.

The tastings are a great opportunity to showcase the unique qualities of the Vouvray terroir and the skill of our winemakers”, says Alain Le Capitaine, President of the Vouvray AOC association.  “By exhibiting at the Aspen Food & Wine Classic, we intend to emphasize the versatility of our appellation: from a celebratory glass of sparkling to a pre-dinner drink, to an expert dinner paring, to a digestif … Sparkling Vouvrays can even be used in cocktails!   These wines can be enjoyed on many different occasions, making them the perfect fit for the US market”.
