Healdsburg, California (May 10, 2023) – Gary Farrell Winery has promoted Brent McKoy to Winemaker, working under Director of Winemaking Theresa Heredia. He has been with the winery for 18 years and originally worked for founder Gary Farrell.

“I am delighted and tremendously proud to promote Brent to Winemaker,” said Heredia. “He has a keen palate, broad winemaking experience, and deep knowledge of winemaking at Gary Farrell Winery. We have been very fortunate to have him for so many years, and it is a pleasure to work with him.”

McKoy joined Gary Farrell Winery in 2005 after working for Robert Mondavi Winery. He started as Cellar Foreman, working under the guidance of Gary Farrell, and later became Cellar Master. When Heredia joined the winery as Winemaker in 2012 she recognized his passion, organizational skills, and openness to new techniques and promoted him to Assistant Winemaker. He has been Associate Winemaker since 2020.

Heredia remains Director of Winemaking for Gary Farrell Winery and was recently recognized by the Sonoma County Barrel Auction as a Sonoma County Innovator.

Gary Farrell Winery, which marked its 40th anniversary in 2022, is located on Westside Road in Healdsburg and specializes in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from top vineyards in the Russian River Valley. Additional information is available at www.garyfarrellwinery.com.
