Celebrate Texas Independence Day with Fall Creek Vineyards’ Mission San Antonio de Valero Alamo Cabernet Sauvignon

February 27th – What better way to celebrate Texas Independence Day on March 2nd than with a bottle of wine that supports the maintenance and restoration of our state treasure, the Alamo? Fall Creek Vineyards’  2021 Mission San Antonio de Valero, Alamo Cabernet Sauvignon is a limited-edition wine that celebrates Texas heritage. The vineyard’s co-founder, Ed Auler, was inspired to create a special wine to honor Texan heroes, such as William B. Travis, who sacrificed themselves on the hallowed ground of the Mission San Antonio De Valero, a.k.a. the Alamo. This wine captures history in a bottle as some of the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this special wine were grown at Oxbow Vineyard, the estate vineyard of Fall Creek Vineyards at Driftwood, which is situated on land originally owned by William B. Travis.

“Alamo” Cabernet Sauvignon is a delicious, medium-body wine with soft tannins and 13.8% ABV. To the taste buds, the wine exhibits dark cherry, plum, spice and light oak, creating a perfect harmony between fruit and acidity. Director of winemaking, Sergio Cuadra, made this wine with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, and 8% Tempranillo. Mission San Antonio de Valero, Alamo Cabernet Sauvignon was aged one year in new French and American oak barrels before being bottled.

Only 550 cases of Fall Creek’s Mission San Antonio de Valero were made. Wine lovers can purchase a bottle from Fall Creek Vineyards as well as through select retailers and restaurants across Texas.
