February 2nd – Texas Wine Growers, whose mission is to promote and protect the integrity of Texas Wine by making wines solely from grapes grown in the Terroir of Texas, held its Annual Meeting on November 30, 2022.

Texas Wine Grower members are committed to initiatives supporting the growth and development of the 100% Texas grown wine industry through:

  • Promoting integrity and authenticity in wine labeling and production across the state,
  • Pursuing avenues to educate consumers, curating research and data analysis supporting grape growing in the Texas AVAs,
  • Petitioning for new AVA’s, where appropriate, and advocating for 100% Texas wines in all aspects of the Texas wine industry.

During the annual meeting, Members signed a declaration asserting their winery’s commitment to producing 100% Texas wines. Supporting Texas grape growers provides a significant impact to the Texas State economy as well as to the growing wine industry in the United States.

Blake DeBerry President of Texas Wine Growers and Co-owner of Torr Na Lochs Vineyard & Winery said: “I am proud to be part of an organization that is focused on wines made in Texas with grapes grown in Texas. Once again, our members demonstrated their commitment to 100% Texas in all their wines. What is actually in the consumer’s wine glass is important not just to the consumer, but to the livelihood of growers, winery production personnel, tasting room staff, and all the associated businesses that support the Texas wine industry. Texas Wine Growers will continue to advocate for 100% Texas wines.”

Texas Wine Growers is a part of the Wine Origins Alliance and plans to support the efforts of Texas Department of Agriculture as an observer member of The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV)
