Mezzacorona Adds Newest Varietal to Their Portfolio: Domenica Pinot Grigio

The purest and clearest soul of Pinot Grigio from Trentino, Italy

NEW YORK (September 12, 2022) – Leading Italian wine producer, Mezzacorona, announced today the latest addition to their portfolio, Domenica Pinot Grigio. Trentino, Italy was the perfect terroir for this varietal. A unique wine, Domenica Pinot Grigio is the result of grapes grown from vineyards in this pristine area and farmed with the craftsmanship and sustainable viticulture that Mezzacorona wines are known for. Through every sip, Domenica Pinot Grigio embodies the freshness of this region.

Trentino is home to ideal land and climate for Domenica to grow. The dolomite rocks enhance the sunlight that is reflected onto the vines, which allows for the grapes to prosper in the soil. Crafted in nature, this wine encapsulates the essence of the mountains as the vineyards are located within valleys near rising cliffs. Each bottle contains the splendid nature it was grown in.

“This wine brings the sense of purity and cleanliness of the immaculate Trentino valleys,” says Mezzacorona Winemaker Maurizio Maurizi, “The unique climate, the sustainable farming, the Dolomites, and the exposure of our valleys, lead to the perfect equilibrium of aromas, acidity and freshness.”

The impressive craftsmanship of Domenica Pinot Grigio is a result of each bottle going through the Mezzacorona standards of quality control and the fact that this wine is 100% hand harvested. The system requires the grapes to be evaluated based on strict criteria. Additionally, Domenica is harvested between 10-12 days later than in other areas allowing for better development of flavor and aromas.

“With 115 years of tradition and expertise in crafting our wines, along with our sustainable efforts and practices, Domenica was born,” says Barbara Darra, Global Marketing Manager of Mezzacorona. “Domenica truly represents the pinnacle of Pinot Grigio and we are proud of its SQNPI certification, guaranteeing its sustainable quality.”

Domenica Pinot Grigio is straw yellow color with notes of sweet chamomile and lilac on the nose then fades into scents of white stone fruit. The first sip of Domenica is ample, rich and soft and its finish has a vibrant acidity that enhances the aroma. It is the perfect aperitif, best served with cheese and meat and it is a superb companion to seafood, pasta and mushroom dishes.

All Mezzacorona wines are sustainably farmed, hand-harvested, and estate-bottled. Domenica Pinot Grigio is imported by Prestige Wine Imports and is available nationwide with a suggested retail price of $15.
