6/3/2022 – Bidding is underway on 75 Napa Valley wine lots in the Collective Napa Valley Barrel Auction that closes Friday, June 3 starting at 3:30 p.m. Anyone from anywhere in the world is invited to participate by bidding through Sotheby’s.

With all proceeds going toward children’s mental health, the opportunity to purchase Napa Valley wines while supporting a great cause is only one of the attractions at this year’s event.

Among the 75 lots up for auction are 59 wines from the 2021 vintage. The winning bidders will be among the first to procure wines from this vintage described by winemakers in Napa Valley as “pure joy”.

For each lot, 10 winning bidders will take home a 12-bottle case. Among the lots up for auction are several joint winery efforts that make the wines that much more rare. Included is a lot by auction hosts Jean Charles Boisset and Gina Gallo called 2021 Maritus that is a Cabernet Sauvignon based blend boasting the personalities of its makers in equal measure.

Also of note are ten 2020 red wine gems by Bennet LaneDuckhorn VineyardsGhost Block VineyardJohn Anthony VineyardsMeteor VineyardMi Sueño WineryParaduxxPride Mountain VineyardsSmith Devereux and Trinitas Cellars.

All proceeds from the barrel auction will go toward children’s mental health programming on Napa Valley school campuses that provide access to counseling, substance abuse prevention, bullying prevention programs and more.

Collective Napa Valley is a year-round philanthropy program that brings people together to enjoy Napa Valley wines while raising funds for the good of its community. Throughout the year, members will engage with vintners and explore the region through a variety of programs and events online and in person. For more information, visit collectivenapavalley.org.
