Terlato Wines Recruits Karl Waldschmidt Director of Operations & Logistics

LAKE BLUFF, IL (November 12, 2021) – Established in 1947, fourth generation family-owned and operated Terlato Wines today announced the appointment of Karl Waldschmidt as Director of Operations & Logistics.

With 18 years of Global Transportation experience, Waldschmidt has tremendous relationships throughout the entire supply chain system and is a subject matter expert in SAP Procure to Pay, 3rd Party Negotiation Contracts and Customs Compliance.

Prior to joining Terlato, Waldschmidt spent the last 17 years with Walgreens in a series of progressive management roles including Senior Manager of Global Transportation and Manager of Import Operations & Administration.  Waldschmidt has a Bachelor of Business, Supply Chain Management and a Minor in Agricultural Economics from Western Illinois University and honed his discipline and leadership skills during his during his six years of service as a Specialist with the Illinois Army National Guard.

Raised in a rural town, Waldschmidt worked in agriculture prior to college. “I always knew I would eventually get back into an agriculture-based business. Terlato has such an incredible portfolio of brands so I felt that if I was going to make a career change, this really was the place to go. I’m really looking forward to taking all of the experience I’ve gained from working at a large, multinational corporation and make a positive impact on this family run business,” said Waldschmidt.
