Milano Wine Week 2021: 9 Days of Events for the Wine Community Worldwide

2-10 October 2021, in Milan & 11 Cities across 7 Countries (USA, Canada, UK, Russia, China, Hong Kong, Japan)

May 17th – Returning for its fourth edition, from 2 to 10 October, Milano Wine Week is the most innovative Italian fair devoted to the wine world, showcasing the best producers, products and trends in the industry and bringing together the wine community at a crucial time for the sector’s comeback. A unique event that originates in Milan and “spreads” across the world: the “laboratory” of tomorrow’s wine that aspires to act both as a business opportunity for companies and as a platform for the resurgence of the Food&Drink sector in its most important global markets.

Milano Wine Week was the only large-scale wine fair to be produced in Italy in 2020: building upon this experience, Milano Wine Week returns this year with the goal of bringing together players from the entire wine community from Milan – the capital of Italian excellence, from fashion, to design, to the Hospitality sector – across the world.

From 2 to 10 October, the fair will be a meeting place for producers, companies, opinion leaders and the public, with a strong territorial tie as well as global reach: an ideal place where the dialogue between all of these actors and sectors can create added value and catalyze business on a national and international scale.

The program features a 9 day-calendar of hundreds of events, which will take place  physically in Milan and across MWW international venues in complete compliance with regulations, guaranteeing the safety of attendees, and will feature top Italian wine labels and experts. All of the events will also be available for remote viewing online, through the “Digital Wine Fair” platform: a virtual archive presenting live broadcasts and recording of all the events, translated into English for international audiences, as well as a meeting space for professionals worldwide in which to conduct business, interact and get insightful updates from leading opinion makers in the field.

The program will delve into three fields of action: with activities designed for industry professionals at a strategic time of year, when purchases are defined for over one third of the Italian wine industry’s yearly turnover (Tastings, Masterclasses, Walk-around Tastings, enhanced through the Digital Wine Fair platform); with training and networking activities devoted to different audiences which together form the largest educational forum in the field (Webinars, Seminars and Workshops – Wine Business Forum, Shaping Wine and Wine Generation Forum, in 3 different days and with 3 specific target audiences) and with an intense calendar of events for consumers and wine lovers that will ‘invade’ hundreds of venues across Milan (Wine Pairings, Wine Parties, Walk Around Tastings, Wine Talks, MWW Bar&Restaurant Circuit, MWW Wine Shop).

“Our goal is to be a laboratory for the future of the wine world” notes Federico Gordini, President of Milano Wine Week, “in Italy and across the world”.

Following the excellent results of the 2020 tastings broadcast live from Milan, with masterclasses attended in person by over 1000 industry professionals across venues in 7 cities (in Usa, Canada, Russia and China), the 2021 edition will present an expanded international program involving 11 cities (Montréal, Toronto, New York, Chicago, Miami, London, Moscow, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tokyo, Hong Kong) in 7 key-markets for Italian wine export (Usa, Canada, UK, Russia, China, Hong Kong and Japan). These international promotional activities are organized in the world’s most strategic locations and designed to efficiently relaunch Italian wine in extra-UE areas.

A specific focus of this edition will be placed on the bond between Wine and Food: wining and dining have always gone together, and the recent pandemic has highlighted the direct link these two industries share. Milano Wine Week aims to promote the quality of Italian agri-food products through a series of dedicated events that will feature some of Italy’s most important chefs, as well as joint promotional activities within the international program, which aim to showcase these two essential pillars of Italian lifestyle to an audience of industry professionals in 7 of the world’s most important markets.
