Take Advantage of Promotions Offered Throughout the Entire Month and Special Virtual Events

SANTA ROSA, California – October 7, 2020 – With the return of changing leaves comes another fall tradition, the official October designation of Sonoma County Wine Month in celebration of the county’s world-class and diverse wine region. For a sixth consecutive year, wineries are offering consumers creative specials for those that can celebrate in-person or at home virtually.

Special offerings include direct shipping promotions, virtual cooking and wine pairing classes, two-for-one tastings, virtual happy hours, and winemaker meet and greets.

With more than 60 varietals of wines and over 400 wineries, Sonoma County is a wine region like no other. In addition to the incredible diversity, Sonoma County is also the first wine region in the world to be 99 percent sustainable. Throughout October, wine connoisseurs can raise a glass at home with critically acclaimed Sonoma County wines, learn pairing tips and even host a wine-centric trivia night.

To coincide with Sonoma County Wine Month, Sonoma County Vintners is hosting a social media giveaway October 1-31. Guests who visit local tasting rooms can enter to win a Sonoma County swag bag by sharing a photo from their visit on social media channels. Entries should include the hashtag #SipSoCo2020 and tag @SonomaCountyVintners to be considered for the giveaway.

“The wine community in Sonoma County is built around family and at the end of the day Sonoma County Wine Month is really all about celebrating the brilliant work our wineries do that is dedicated to supporting the region,” said Michael Haney, executive director of Sonoma County Vintners. “Today, many wineries are featuring ways to alleviate the cost of shipping wines, and several wineries are hosting in-depth and continuous virtual wine experiences for those to celebrate at home.”
