Foppiano Vineyards Celebrates 125th Anniversary with New Look

The Sonoma-based winery re-brands to commemorate the milestone

NAPA, CA (August 10, 2020) — Foppiano Vineyards, one the Russian River Valley’s oldest family-owned wineries, is commemorating its upcoming 125th anniversary with a retro-inspired look for its portfolio of estate-produced wines. The updated label presently adorns the 2018 Estate Chardonnay and 2019 Estate Sauvignon Blanc, with the rest of the range to follow upon bottling later this year. The new labels contain a striking contrast of shades and colors, and an eye-catching font that mimics the artistic mural decorating the front of the winery.

Quintessential Wines, Foppiano’s marketing and distribution partner, has been at the forefront of the brand’s expansion. “It gives us great pleasure to partner with legacy brands such as Foppiano, who value and uphold generations of winemaking traditions,” says Dennis Kreps, who owns Quintessential with his father, Stephen D. Kreps. “On the eve of their 125th anniversary, the new labels continue that heritage, more accurately reflecting the family’s history and their strong connection with the earth.”

Since 1896, The Foppiano family has been making award-winning wines in the Russian River Valley—an American Viticultural Area that Louis J. Foppiano helped to establish. Foppiano has long been recognized for its generationally crafted wines and sustainably-farmed vineyards that produce ripe, expressive fruit, vintage after vintage. The portfolio includes an Estate Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and “1896” red blend. In 2021, the company will celebrate 125 years of winemaking in the Russian River Valley.

“My great, great-grandfather purchased the original vineyard in 1896, and continuing his legacy, six generations later, has been quite a humbling and remarkable experience,” says Paul Foppiano. “Our new look is a tribute to him and to a simpler time, when everything began.”
