From Wine Enthusiast’s 2025 Winemaker of the Year Jesse Katz, a build-your-own three-bottle box featuring the acclaimed 2022 reds, the 2022 Chardonnays and the debut of Night Owl.
HEALDSBURG, Calif. (November 6, 2026). In 2019, winemaker Jesse Katz handcrafted a single barrel of wine as a wedding gift from actor and producer Jessica Biel to her brother, writer Justin Biel, and his wife, Rose Biel. This holiday season, the story comes full circle. For the first time, Prophet & Poet is offering a three-bottle gift box, curated by the giver.
Each box holds any three wines, chosen by the buyer: a 100-point 2022 red beside the new Night Owl, a Ghost Cat beside a King Bird. Every bottle carries original artwork by Darren Le Gallo and a wisdom poem by Justin and Rose Biel, so each gift arrives as both wine and keepsake. Orders placed by December 12 arrive in time for the holidays.
The winemaker behind the gift. Katz, named Wine Enthusiast’s 2025 Winemaker of the Year, makes every Prophet & Poet wine, in partnership with vintner Chris Jackson of Jackson Family Wines. Together, they hand-select every block, call every pick, and blend every wine.
A new wine to give. The 2022 vintage introduces Night Owl, the first new wine since the inaugural release. A Cabernet Franc driven red from Taylor Peak in Bennett Valley, it shows black cherry, cracked pepper and iron-rich minerality, and earned 99 points from International Wine Report. Its poem reads: “The seer discerns the past, soars through presence with perspective, and illuminates the tapestry of time.”
A gift to open years from now. Wine Enthusiast named the 2021 Mourning Cloak No. 12 on its Top 100 Cellar Selections, a list of wines built to reward patience. Mourning Cloak is one of the wines buyers can choose for the box, and Prophet & Poet is made for exactly that kind of gift.
