Leading Online Retailer Offers Unprecedented Ways for Discovery, Convenience & Access Through Virtual Tastings and Content

San Francisco, Calif., March 23, 2020Wine Access, the leading online direct-to-consumer wine retailer, announced today the launch of an online community group with winemaker partners on March 21st, offering virtual tastings, content, and more to their collection of consumers around the country. Additionally, Wine Access has announced a 15% discount on all wines through at least the end of March to make their genre-spanning selection of wines more accessible to consumers. The launch re-affirms Wine Access’ role of providing a unique route to market—and platform for communication—between independent wineries and the increasing number of consumers buying wine in the direct-to-consumer space.

Wine Access has been at the forefront of the growing Direct-to-Consumer (DtC) wine sector since its inception in 1995 and has made a point out of transporting consumers onto the wine trail from the comfort of their own homes—whether it is through their daily offers, online wine store, or Wine Access Wine Club program. As the shelter in place news continues to roll in for communities around the country, the goal of Wine Access is to continue providing an extremely easy way to access some of the best wines in the world.

The ascent and staying power of Wine Access speaks to the curational abilities of their talented wine team, who work directly with growers and producers and share their stories through educational digital content including videos, infographics and stories and thoughtful packaging inserts. All bottles are hand-selected by a team that consists of a Master Sommelier, a Master of Wine, and an International Wine Judge, along with guest recommendations from Michelin-star Somms and 100-point winemakers. Indeed, Wine Access is one of only three businesses in the country that has both a Master Sommelier and Master of Wine on their full-time staff.

“Wine Access has been huge for me in terms of my wine education and appreciation,” notes NBA star Josh Hart, “I don’t think I would be as into wine, or know as much about it, without Vanessa and the rest of their team. I feel like I’m discovering something new and exciting with each shipment they send, and I really appreciate all the information that’s included to help people learn about the wide world of wine.”

“Each quarterly shipment has a very deliberate intent behind it; we are utilizing our collective knowledge and resources to introduce our customers to new or particularly interesting wine regions, winemaking techniques and concepts from the wine industry’s leading voices,”, said Vanessa Conlin, Wine Access’ Head of Wine and newly minted Master of Wine. “We are always excited to bring these special wines to both current and new consumers and our role in connecting people and place is all the more important today. We see it as our responsibility to be strategic partners to wineries and suppliers as they look for ways to continue to sell wines, and we are uniquely set up and suited to do exactly that.”

The Wine Access Wine Club will bring members four shipments of six bottles each every year, access to exclusive educational videos and content that highlight the background of each wine, and discounted prices of other purchases through the Wine Access online store.
