Master Sommelier Jill Zimorski Joins Teaching Staff at the American Wine School

CHICAGO – October 16, 2019 – Marianne Frantz, Founder & President of the American Wine School (AWS) is pleased to announce Jill Zimorski, Master Sommelier has joined the education staff of the Chicago-based wine education school. Zimorski will teach WSET classes at AWS’s Chicago location.

“I’m excited to welcome Jill to our education team at AWS,” said Frantz. “We are the only WSET Level 4 Diploma Center in the Midwest and one of the oldest approved program providers for WSET in the United States. We have seen over 15,000 students pass through our classrooms, and I know our candidates and enrollees will greatly benefit from Jill’s knowledge and passion for wine as they too pursue their wine education goals.”

Zimorski is currently a Champagne Specialist representing the Champagnes of Moët Hennessy and has served as the Wine Director of the Alinea Group, as well as at the Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colorado. She served under Jose Andres as the Wine Director for ThinkFoodGroup and Café Atlantico in Washington D.C., where the wine and cocktail program under her direction was named one of the most innovative in the country by The New York Times. Zimorski has also served as Sommelier at Charlie Palmer Steak in D.C. and in management roles for restaurants in Charlottesville, Virginia. After passing her MS exam in 2019, Zimorski became one of 273 professionals in the world, and one of 26 women in the United States, to earn the prestigious accreditation. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and is currently pursuing her WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wine & Spirits. Zimorski resides in Chicago.

Zimorski joins a team of a dozen AWS wine educators located in Chicago, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Detroit and is the third Diploma educator on staff. Guest lecturers for the WSET Diploma program also include Master of Wine Charles Curtis, Master Sommeliers Matthew Citriglia and Larry O’Brien, and industry experts Maurizio Broggi and Lucas Paya. The American Wine School began offering WSET classes in 2005 as the 9th approved program in the United States.
