West Kelowna, BC. September 23, 2019 – California appellation focused PLUME wines are available to the Canadian market with the release of two new vintages: 2018 Napa Valley Chardonnay and 2016 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
PLUME is an extension of the Quails’ Gate story and highlights the achievements of the Stewart family in branching out into the California wine business. These wines celebrate the premier viticulture regions of California, delivering exceptional quality and value. Working with winegrowers in premium AVAs, PLUME sources from distinct vineyards of note: California’s Napa Valley which is synonymous with Chardonnay, and Alexander Valley which is highly regarded for Cabernet Sauvignon. Through these partnerships, PLUME explores the best of each appellation and creates wines that are a reflection of true regional style.
A limited 1,000 cases of the 2016 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and 600 cases of the 2018 Napa Valley Chardonnay were produced. “Wines are a sense of place, not a commodity,” says Tony Stewart, founder of PLUME and CEO of Stewart Family Estates. “To be able to focus on these AVAs in such limited production is important to us.”
Originally launched in 2012, PLUME has been available in select Canadian provinces in limited quantities. Interest remains high as the team introduces new vintages to wine buyers across the country. “We look forward to continuing our sales in those provinces and growing our presence in Canada,” says Stewart.
PLUME Chardonnay is currently available in British Columbia and Alberta. The new 2018 Napa Valley Chardonnay and 2016 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon are available to the Canadian market, pending additional provincial listings.
