BURNET, Texas, September, 2019Wedding Oak Winery has opened a new multifaceted hospitality center and tasting room on the Burnet County Courthouse Square in Burnet, Texas. The new facility is Wedding Oak Winery’s third retail wine operation with the primary winery in downtown San Saba, and a tasting room on Highway 290 in Fredericksburg.

The new Wedding Oak Winery hospitality center includes the historic Badger Building, which was originally built in 1883, and the adjacent property, all located at 229 S. Pierce. With a total of 8,500 square feet, the new facility offers several areas to relax and enjoy award winning 100% Texas-grown wines, including the main tasting room on the first floor, an elegant wine club members lounge, a relaxed ground-level patio, an extensive rooftop terrace with views of the square, and the Badger Room, a spacious gathering place adjacent to the rooftop terrace.

In addition to serving as a daily gathering place for the community, Wedding Oak Winery in Burnet will host winery dinners, live music and special events. It will be a destination for travels on the Hill Country Flyer operated by The Austin Steam Train Association.

“Our expansion into Burnet is not only strategically important for our winery and brand, it is also a wonderful development for the community as it provides a fantastic location for people to enjoy wine in a relaxed setting,” says Mike McHenry, managing partner, Wedding Oak Winery. “We now have three beautiful wine tasting rooms located in wonderful destinations along major arterials which makes it easier for people to visit us, all within the Texas Hill Country appellation. We love the charm of traditional small-town Texas in the Burnet County seat and want to fit right in to the fabric of the community. As with our main winery and production in San Saba, we worked diligently with the City of Burnet and Burnet Economic Development Corporation to retain the historic charm of the Badger Building and created a replica of a 1920s building next to it. It is an stylish hospitality center that we expect to be a jewel of downtown Burnet.”

The Wedding Oak Winery hospitality center in Burnet was developed in a public/ private partnership with the Burnet Economic Development Corp to be a further catalyst for economic development in the community. Following the lengthy design and construction phase, the city will host a rededication of the building with a plaque recognizing the repurposing of a landmark building on September 26, 2019.
