Russian River Valley Winegrowers to Host Intimate Paulée Dinner Under the Stars

Santa Rosa, CA (July 22, 2019) – The Russian River Valley Winegrowers (RRVW)—the community of farmers and winemakers in the Russian River Valley AVA—will host an intimate Paulée Dinner celebration on Friday, August 30 from 5:00pm to 8:30pm at DeLoach Vineyards in Santa Rosa, California.

This elegant evening of wine and food will begin with a welcome reception. Over 30 Russian River Valley AVA wineries will pour tastes of the region’s coveted Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc. In the spirit of the Paulée tradition—which originated in Burgundy—winemakers, collectors and their guests will also bring a special bottle of wine from their personal cellars to share at this intimate wine country celebration.

“We have long referred to the Russian River Valley as ‘America’s Burgundy’ so there is no better place to celebrate the Burgundian tradition of La Paulée in America than at DeLoach, the beautiful organic and Biodynamic estate from a Burgundian family,” said Jean-Charles Boisset, proprietor of Boisset Collection, which includes DeLoach Vineyards. “We look forward to welcoming the Russian River Valley Winegrowers, fellow vintners, winemakers and wine lovers for a magical summer evening of friendship, culinary delights and our favorite elixir, wine!”

To create a meal worthy of such fine wines, five renowned Russian River Valley chefs were recruited to collaborate on a progressive, multi-course dining experience. The star-studded menu begins with a Charcuterie like no other featuring a bountiful tasting of favorite local artisan and farmstead cheeses accompanied by a seasonal assortment of fruits, with sliced baguette and crackers by Sonoma Preferred Catering. Next we have a farm-fresh salad course by Chef Steve Litke of Michelin-starred Farmhouse Inn and Restaurant. Epicurean main courses will be prepared by the extraordinarily talented Chef Charlie Palmer and Executive Chef Rafael Molina of Boisset Collection. The culmination of the meal will be a decadent dessert by extraordinaire and local favorite, Costeaux French Bakery.

RRVW Board President Chris Crispo said, “The Russian River Valley Paulée is an evening spent under the stars, bonding over world-class wines while enjoying the cuisine of celebrated local chefs.” He went on to say that, “The connections, camaraderie and friendships at this event are every bit as special as the rare and limited wines we will share together!”

Over 30 Russian River Valley AVA wineries are confirmed to pour at the event to date, including: William Selyem, Gary Farrell Winery, Flowers Vineyard and Winery, Kanzler Family Wines, MacRostie Winery & Vineyards, La Crema Winery, Hartford Family Winery, Domaine Della, Ramey Family Wines, Maritana Vineyards, Ten Acre Winery, Russian River Vineyards, Christopher Creek Winery and many more.

The Russian River Valley Paulée Dinner celebration would not be possible without the support of the organizations’ generous sponsors. Special thanks to American Ag Credit, AXIA Architects and Mechanics Bank.
