Concert Venue, Restaurant, and Urban Winery Pushes Opening Back One Month Due to Construction Delays

BOSTON, MA (August 16, 2017) – City Winery CEO and founder Michael Dorf announced today that City Winery Boston, the world-class concert venue, restaurant and urban winery located at One Canal Street will open on Monday, October 16th, one month later than planned, due to unforeseen and unavoidable construction delays.

The City Winery Boston management team is now in the process of rescheduling and moving shows and events that were booked for mid-September and early October to other Boston venues or to a later date at City Winery.  Ticketholders for impacted dates are being notified and presented with the option to receive a refund or to transfer their tickets to the new date or a different show. All previously announced live performance dates on and after October 16th will go on as scheduled, including Max Weinberg, Anders Osborne and Jackie Greene, Rusted Root, Rickie Lee Jones, Art Garfunkel, and more.  New shows are being added on an ongoing basis.  Please visit citywinery.com/Boston for the full line-up.

“While we regret the delay and apologize for the inconvenience to ticketholders, it’s important that all aspects of the venue are perfect and we deliver an exemplary experience for our concert-goers and restaurant patrons,” explained Michael Dorf. “We hope everyone understands, and we look forward to opening our doors to Boston audiences in mid-October.”

According to Dorf, the expansive size and complexities of the multi-use space can present construction challenges, given the special considerations required to support best practices in winemaking and to ensure optimal comfort, sightlines, and sound quality within the concert venue.
