The Bay Area Lyme Foundation held an invitation-only event in Portola Valley Sunday night, May 21st, hosted by actor Alec Baldwin, to raise money to fight Lyme Disease. Vintners from Sonoma County were delighted to pitch in and help, including Benovia Winery which teamed up with Seghesio Family Vineyards to create a live auction lot that garnered $10,000 from generous bidders. Benovia also provided wine for the event and awarded gift packs of their 2014 Tilton Hill Pinot Noir and 2014 La Pommeraie Chardonnay to winning bidders. McEvoy Ranch provided their 2012 Evening Standard Pinot Noir and a 2016 Marsanne-Roussanne-Viognier blend for the 320 dinner guests.

Benovia Winery is a special, small production, family-owned winery in the heart of the Russian River Valley that specializes in sustainably farmed, single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Founded by husband and wife team Joe Anderson and Mary Dewane, Benovia was named after Mary and Joe’s fathers, Ben Dewane and Novian Anderson.
