Jan. 10, 2018 | Santa Rosa, CA – CannaCraft, Inc., California’s leading cannabis manufacturer, announced today the appointment of William Silver, PhD as Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. Dr. Silver recently stepped down as the Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Sonoma State University, a position he held since 2008.
Co-founders Ned Fussell and Dennis Hunter served as Co-CEOs prior to Dr. Silver’s appointment. Ned Fussell stated, “The cannabis industry is rapidly changing and we want to ensure that we are adapting by adding the necessary people and skill sets to remain competitive.” Fussell added, “Bill comes to us with decades of leadership experience, extensive knowledge of Sonoma County’s economy and its thriving agricultural businesses, as well as deep ties to the community.”
As the Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Sonoma State, Dr. Silver led significant advancements for the school, establishing the Wine Business Institute as the global leader for wine business education and research, and spearheading innovations in entrepreneurship and executive programs. Dr. Silver has also been an active member of the community, involved in various economic development efforts through his board service on Sonoma County BEST, the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce, the North Bay iHub and Sonoma County Vintners.
Dennis Hunter stated, “CannaCraft has seen tremendous growth and established itself as the market leader over the last three years. With the addition of Dr. Silver as our CEO, I am confident that we have the right team to help guide CannaCraft to the next level.”
