Wine Tech Pioneer Amy C. Gross Launches Pairings, a Free Newsletter Helping Wine Professionals Put AI to Work

Twice-monthly issues share one tool, idea, or process for the business of wine, and show exactly how to use it

October 6, 2026 (Houston, TX) — Amy C. Gross, who has worked in artificial intelligence and wine since 2011, has launched Pairings, a free email newsletter that shows wine professionals which AI tools are worth their time and how to put them to work. Pairings arrives on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

AI adoption is growing across the U.S. wine industry, but unevenly, according to the Wine Market Council’s latest AI in the U.S. Wine Industry Survey, conducted with WineBusiness Analytics.

Pairings is written for the winery owners, tasting room teams, retailers, distributors, and marketers who know AI matters but aren’t sure where to start or which tools to trust.

Each issue shares one practical tool, idea, or process, with no hype and no jargon, built around four themes: getting your time back, knowing your buyer, connecting with customers in your own voice, and growing with guardrails for accuracy, confidentiality, and customer trust.

The first issue, “Six Things AI Can Do for Your Winery (Writing Is the Smallest),” looks past chatbots to the many ways AI can serve a wine business: predicting, seeing, listening and talking, matching, making sense of information, and writing. Examples range from flagging wine club members likely to cancel, to turning a photographed invoice into a spreadsheet, to summarizing a distributor contract, with several uses readers can try the same day using free tools.

“AI is noisy right now. Every week brings a new tool, a new promise, and a new reason to feel behind,” said Gross. “I explore the tools so wine professionals don’t have to guess. The best results I’ve seen never start with the tool. They start with a task someone is tired of doing. Pairings is about finding those tasks and putting the right tools to work, in your own voice.”
