August 18, 2026 (Newberg, OR) — Chase Renton, founder and owner of L’Angolo Estate, a boutique producer of estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and Shannon Boxx, three-time Olympic gold medalist and lupus warrior, announced that the Sixth Annual Sip & Support Fundraiser, benefiting the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA), will be held on Saturday, September 12 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the L’Angolo Estate tasting room in the Dundee Hills AVA located at 18830 NE Williamson Rd, Newberg, OR.
This year’s fundraiser will honor the caregivers who stand beside those living with lupus. Guest speaker Rebecca Bard, whose daughter lives with lupus, will share her family’s journey and reflect on the vital role caregivers play in supporting loved ones through the challenges of the chronic autoimmune disease. The event is hosted in partnership with Kristina Kalkman, board member of the Pacific Northwest chapter of the LFA, and Kelsey Tuttle, board member of the national and Pacific Northwest chapters of the LFA.
Guests will be treated to L’Angolo Estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, food from Red Hills Market, a lupus-themed trivia contest and a game of cornhole. A silent auction will offer a private dinner for six guests with Shannon Boxx and Chase Renton, prepared by Chef Phillip of Larder Provisions, a Willamette Valley Magnum case (6, 1.5L bottles) and more. Shannon Boxx, a World Cup winner, three-time Olympic gold medalist, and Soccer Hall of Fame inductee, was diagnosed with lupus in 2008, at the height of her professional soccer career. Facing limited resources and unanswered questions following her diagnosis, she made it her mission to increase awareness of the disease after retiring from soccer in 2015. She joined forces with the Lupus Foundation of America, using her platform and resources to help establish the Pacific Northwest Chapter. Today she is a member of both the regional and national Board of Directors. She has partnered with L’Angolo Estate since 2020 to host the annual Sip & Support Fundraiser. Together, the event has raised more than $140,000 to support LFA.

About Shannon Boxx
Shannon Boxx is a retired professional soccer player and former member of the United States Women’s National Soccer Team. During her illustrious career, she won three Olympic gold medals with the U.S. at the 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games. In 2022, Boxx was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. She also competed in four FIFA Women’s World Cups, helping the U.S. capture the 2015 World Cup title before announcing her retirement from international competition shortly thereafter. A standout collegiate athlete at the University of Notre Dame, Boxx helped lead the Fighting Irish to the school’s first NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship. At the height of her professional career, she was diagnosed with lupus in 2008 but did not publicly share her diagnosis until 2012. Her experience navigating the disease while competing at the highest level inspired her to become a passionate advocate for the lupus community. Today, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) and is a member of its Pacific Northwest Regional Council, where she continues her work as an advocate, spokesperson and keynote speaker, using her platform to raise awareness of lupus and support those living with the disease.
