Gabriella Favara Is the New President of Assovini Sicilia

A Board of Directors entirely under 40 with the entry of young members from the “Generazione Next” group

July 6, 2026 (Palermo, Italy) — Leadership change at Assovini Sicilia: Gabriella Favara is the new President of the association that brings together one hundred Sicilian wine companies. The newly elected Board of Directors is entirely represented by those under 40 from the “Generazione Next” group: Graziano Nicosia, Costante Planeta, Cristina Madaudo, Pietro Pollara, Alessandro Tasca, Enrica Spadafora, and Totò Navarra.

Appointed during the meeting on Monday, July 6, by the new Board, Gabriella Favara, under 30 and from Marsala, is the International Marketing Manager of the family company, Donnafugata. She joined the company four years ago after earning a degree in Business Economics and a Master’s in Business Management from Oxford. Following various corporate experiences in trade marketing, Gabriella Favara returned to Sicily to oversee foreign markets for Donnafugata.

I am grateful to President Mariangela Cambria and the outgoing Board for the great work done, and I am honored by the trust that the Assembly has chosen to place in our new council,” stated Gabriella Favara. “I accept this baton with great respect and with the awareness of the challenges that await our sector. Assovini Sicilia has contributed in a decisive way to building the identity and prestige of Sicilian wine in the world. Our task,” concluded the new President, “will be to continue this path, combining experience and innovation, strengthening the value of our association and working together to face market changes and continue to give strength to the Sicily brand“.

The new Assovini Sicilia Board of Directors is composed of: Gabriella Favara – President; Pietro Pollara – Vice President (Alessandro di Camporeale); Cristina Madaudo (Camporè); Pierfilippo Marchello (Cantine Pellegrino); Totò Navarra (Tenute Navarra); Graziano Nicosia (Tenute Nicosia); Costante Planeta (Planeta); Enrica Spadafora (Dei Principi di Spadafora); Alessandro Tasca (Tasca d’Almerita).
