July 1, 2026 (Healdsburg, CA) — Some things about Dry Creek Valley never change – the land, the relationships, the commitment to doing things right. And some things are always growing. The Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley (WDCV) is thrilled to announce two outstanding additions to its Board of Directors: Suhayl Ramirez of Overshine Wine Co. and Ali Smith Story of Smith Story Wine Cellars.
These two bring something this board has always valued: a deep love for this place, a serious commitment to the people in it, and the kind of perspective that pushes an already-strong community forward. They aren’t just joining a board – they’re stepping into a legacy and helping shape what comes next.
The full board will gather for the first time on July 14, 2026, where the Board of Directors will elect its Executive Committee – President, Vice President, and Treasurer.

Suhayl Ramirez | Overshine Wine Co.
Suhayl Ramirez has never taken a straight line to anything — and that’s what makes her so compelling. Her career has moved through hospitality, cosmetics, craft chocolate, and CPG, always pulled toward the things people taste, smell, and feel. Wine found her four and a half years ago, and she hasn’t looked back. Since August 2025, she has been part of the management team at Overshine Wine Co., bringing her MBA in Global Wine Business from Sonoma State University and an instinct for connection that goes well beyond the glass. Her north star: understanding why people fall in love with wine, and making sure every guest who walks through the door gets to experience exactly that.
Ali Smith Story | Smith Story Wine Cellars
Ali Smith Story is the kind of person who shows up fully — for her family, for her winery, and for this community. As Co-Founder and President of Smith Story Wine Cellars, she has built something rooted in craft and intention, sourcing from sustainably farmed vineyards across Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. Her background in professional sports, wine sales and marketing, and entrepreneurship gives her a rare combination of strategic clarity and genuine heart. Ali is a vocal champion for independent winegrowers, for wine education, and for making sure that future generations have a real place in Dry Creek Valley.

“Dry Creek Valley has always been defined by the people who tend it and the community that surrounds it. Suhayl and Ali bring exactly the kind of vision, energy, and commitment this valley deserves – and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them.”
— Lauren Fremont, Executive Director, Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley
Together with the returning board members who have long championed this region, Suhayl and Ali join a group of deeply committed leaders who reflect the diversity, depth and heart Dry Creek Valley – its growers, its producers, its land, and its future.
