Kaytlin Martino-Zavala Launches Margaux Marketing to Help Wineries Win the Battle for Consumer Attention

New Agency Specializing Exclusively in Wine Industry Marketing Brings a Decade of Experience in Luxury Hospitality, Wine, Tourism, and Direct-to-Consumer Growth

June 29, 2026 (Napa Valley, CA) — At a time when wineries face declining wine consumption, increasing competition for consumer attention, and growing pressure on direct-to-consumer sales, wine industry marketer Kaytlin Martino-Zavala today announced the launch of Margaux Marketing, a full-service digital marketing agency built exclusively for wine brands seeking sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

Margaux Marketing was founded on a simple belief: exceptional wine is no longer enough. The brands that thrive over the next decade will be those that pair great wine with equally compelling digital experiences, customer relationships, and storytelling.

“For decades, wineries could rely on distributors, critics, and tasting room traffic to drive growth,” said Martino-Zavala. “Today’s consumer discovers brands differently. They’re finding wineries through social media, digital content, email, and peer recommendations. The brands that recognize that shift and invest accordingly will have a significant competitive advantage and will be the brands that succeed, both during and after this market downturn.”

Martino-Zavala brings a decade of experience in the wine industry and luxury marketing to her new venture. Most recently, she spent more than three years overseeing marketing at Trefethen Family Vineyards, where she guided the iconic Napa Valley winery through evolving consumer trends while honoring the legacy of one of California’s pioneering wine families.

During her tenure at Trefethen Family Vineyards, Martino-Zavala helped lead the winery’s digital transformation at a time when many wineries were experiencing declining online engagement and e-commerce performance. Recognizing SMS as an underutilized channel, she developed a more integrated email-and-SMS strategy, multi-channel approach to e-commerce sales, executing 177 campaigns in a single year. The effort resulted in a 380% increase in SMS-driven revenue and a 101% year-over-year increase in combined email and SMS revenue, despite broader industry softness and a decline in email revenue alone.

Prior to Trefethen, Martino-Zavala was a member of Visit California’s Global Brand Advertising team, contributing to multi-million-dollar creative campaigns spanning television, digital media, and destination marketing initiatives. The role provided a macro-level understanding of traveler behavior, luxury consumer trends, and the importance of collective storytelling in elevating entire regions and industries.

Martino-Zavala began her wine industry career at Bogle Family Vineyards, where she managed social media strategy across the company’s portfolio of brands, including Bogle Family Vineyards, Phantom Wines, and Juggernaut Wines. Working directly alongside the Bogle family, she developed an early appreciation for the balance between heritage, innovation, and brand storytelling that defines successful wine businesses.

A graduate of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations, Martino-Zavala also studied Viticulture and Enology at Napa Valley College. Her technical understanding of wine production, combined with years of marketing experience, allows her to develop strategies that are both creatively compelling and deeply informed by the realities of vineyard and winery operations.

“The wine industry doesn’t need more marketing for marketing’s sake,” said Martino-Zavala. “It needs smarter marketing. The brands that invest in understanding their customers, building loyalty, and creating genuine digital connections today will be the brands that define the next generation of wine consumers. That’s the opportunity I see, and that’s why I started Margaux.”

Margaux Marketing works with wineries, wine brands, and luxury businesses seeking strategic digital leadership without sacrificing industry-specific expertise. Services include digital marketing strategy, social media management, photography and videography, email and SMS marketing, direct-to-consumer marketing growth strategies, brand positioning, and integrated campaign development.
