Celebrate the Bounty of Mendocino with a Curated Menu and Wine-Pairing
June 22, 2026 (Ukiah, CA) — Tickets are available for a special 6-course dinner and wine pairing at 7:30pm on Friday, June 26 at Ukiah Brewing Company with Chef Matt Allison and Terragena winemaker and founder, Chris Buchanan, as part of the newly envisioned Bacchanal Mendocino. This year, Taste Mendocino has evolved into an epic weekend-long event featuring the Mendocino Winegrowers Inc. annual wine competition on Friday, June 26 followed by a winemaker dinner at Ukiah Brewing Company featuring Terragena Wine in the evening.

Executive Chef Matt Allison
Executive Chef Matt Allison’s culinary career began early, winning a 4-H Gold Ribbon in the fourth grade and securing his first professional kitchen role at age 15. Raised in California, he discovered his passion cooking for his large extended family, gaining foundational mentorship under three amazing and varying chefs before landing his first Head Chef position at just 18. He formally trained at Le Cordon Bleu and has spent his 33-year career mastering every aspect of hospitality—from front-of-house operations and mixology to global flavor profiles.
About the Winery
Now serving as the Executive Chef of the Ukiah Brewing Company, Chef Matt previously contributed to high-profile Los Angeles venues, including The Athenaeum at CalTech, The Huntington Library, and Bistro 45. His work earned accolades like “Best New Burger” and “Best Gin Bar in L.A.,” and he catered elite events such as John Legend’s album release parties and The Oscars. Highly proficient in styles ranging from Thai to Italian, his personal favorites remain French and California cuisines.

Chris Buchanan
Chris Buchanan is a winemaker who owns and operates Terragena Wine, a company he founded in 2008 while constructing an off-grid winery in Humboldt County. Guided by a passion for exploration and a taste for experimentation, Chris crafts wines that honor the collective wisdom of winemakers past and present while celebrating the land and people behind the grapes. Today, Terragena operates out of Mendocino County with production in Redwood Valley. He lives in Ukiah with his wife, son and two dogs.
