Andreola Chooses Transparency: “Obtained without Fining Practices” to Appear on the Entire Valdobbiadene DOCG Range, and Blend Number on Dirupo

More clarity for consumers, greater continuity for the Andreola style: the new 2026 vintage bottles tell their story directly on the label

Col San Martino, Italy (November 4, 2026) – More information and a deeper understanding of the wine: this is the direction chosen by Andreola, which, with the new 2026 vintage bottles, will bring to the label details that have so far remained largely invisible to consumers. Across the entire Valdobbiadene DOCG range, the wording “obtained without fining practices” will now appear, while Dirupo Valdobbiadene DOCG will also feature its blend number.

“Today’s market offers an enormous range of choices, and it is not always easy to navigate among so many options. For this reason, we decided to add two important pieces of information to our labels: the wording ‘obtained without fining practices’ on all our Valdobbiadene DOCG wines and the blend number on Dirupo, one of our best-known labels. For us, this is a matter of respect for those who purchase our wines. Giving consumers more information to help them orient themselves means enabling them to make clearer choices and to recognize the Andreola style over time, vintage after vintage. It is a step that strengthens the relationship of trust with those who choose our wines and honestly tells the story of the work we do from vineyard to bottle,” says Stefano Pola, owner of Andreola.

The initiative responds to a growing demand for transparency from consumers, who are increasingly interested not only in the origin of the grapes but also in the choices that define a wine’s identity. The indication “obtained without fining practices”, now extended to the entire Valdobbiadene DOCG range, reflects a production approach aimed at preserving the integrity of the wine and its natural components as much as possible.

The blend number, meanwhile, will appear on Dirupo, the cuvée that best represents this philosophy, as it is created through the union of grapes from different areas. In Valdobbiadene DOCG production, blending is one of the most important stages of the winemaking process: base wines obtained from different vineyard parcels and vintages are selected and combined to achieve the desired stylistic profile. This is where the winemaker’s expertise meets the characteristics expressed by each vintage, transforming the heritage of the vineyards into a recognizable and consistent identity over time. Knowing the blend number will also allow consumers to follow the evolution of the cuvée through the years, making accessible information that is often unknown to the public. Furthermore, the numbering starts with the very first edition of Dirupo, the label with which the company was founded, making it possible to retrace, edition after edition, the history of Andreola from its origins.

“From a technical standpoint, this decision represents a further step in the transparency journey that Andreola has pursued for years. Choosing not to use fining practices for any Valdobbiadene DOCG wine in our range means preserving the wine’s integrity from the very beginning, allowing it to authentically express the characteristics of both the grape and the territory. Added to this is the blend number on Dirupo, which provides greater context for the cuvée and allows consumers to appreciate its evolution over time. This approach is still relatively uncommon and brings consumers closer to the work carried out in the winery, making the journey from vineyard to glass easier to understand,” explains Mirco Balliana, winemaker at Andreola.

By bringing to the label information traditionally reserved for industry professionals, Andreola strengthens its commitment to transparency and offers consumers a new way to interpret Valdobbiadene DOCG. A choice that transforms the bottle not only into something to enjoy, but also into a source of knowledge capable of telling, with greater precision, the story of the work that begins in the vineyards and takes shape in the winery.

Andreola

Located in the heart of the Valdobbiadene DOCG area, with 110 hectares of vineyards, 900,000 bottles sold in more than 35 countries and nearly 40 years of history, Andreola has become a symbol of Valdobbiadene DOCG’s heroic viticulture. The winery has always produced wines that are literally “handcrafted,” reflecting its constant commitment to quality. The estate stands out for the manual work carried out in its vineyards, an essential practice on the region’s steep hillsides, where harvest time is characterized by the use of distinctive pulley systems for transporting grapes. Production focuses primarily on the Glera grape variety, alongside a small proportion of native varieties found in old vineyards, and includes a range of labels such as the Rive Line, which features the largest number of Rive crus in the Valdobbiadene DOCG denomination.
