May 11, 2026 (Verona, Italy) — From 3 to 5 June, Lake Garda once again becomes the stage for Garda Wine Stories, the press tour promoted by the Consorzio Garda DOC and dedicated to national and international media. Following the success achieved at Vinitaly, the appellation thus renews its positioning strategy with three days of meetings, tastings and in depth sessions designed to present the identity, innovation and future outlook of Garda DOC.
The centrepiece of the programme will be the technical conference scheduled for Thursday 4 June at the Dogana Veneta in Lazise, entitled “Garda DOC: growth strategies and perception in international markets. Low alcohol content, versatility and new consumption trends”, featuring contributions from experts and representatives of leading publications in the target markets.
“Addressing the topic of low alcohol today means interpreting with clarity the evolution of international demand, understanding new patterns of consumption and anticipating the changes affecting the global wine market,” states Paolo Fiorini, President of the Consorzio Garda DOC. “An increasing number of consumers are seeking versatile, contemporary products that align with a more mindful approach to drinking, without compromising on quality or territorial identity. In this context, the role of the Consorzio is to guide change with responsibility and strategic vision. As a Consorzio, we were the first appellation to include this category within the production regulations: a pioneering choice that reflects the determination of Garda DOC to innovate, offering new opportunities to producers and tangible responses to the markets, while remaining firmly rooted in its values, recognizability and connection to the territory.”
The discussion will open with an analysis of the denomination’s performance, followed by in-depth insights into key international markets such as the United Kingdom and Germany, with contributions from leading international observers. This represents a valuable opportunity to explore new consumption trends, commercial opportunities, and growth drivers for the Garda DOC.
Alongside its technical content, Garda Wine Stories confirms its experiential vocation with immersive moments across the territory. On the afternoon of Thursday 4 June, the Rocca di Lonato (Brescia) will host a walk around tasting featuring the wineries of the appellation within the Casa del Podestà. The closing day on Friday 5 June will instead be dedicated to sensory innovation, with a masterclass led by the President of the Consorzio Paolo Fiorini, Sissi Baratella, winemaker and Vinitaly Ambassador for Garda DOC, and Dario Boschetto, trainer and freediver, offering an immersive experience that brings together wine, breathing and sensory perception.
Garda Wine Stories thus confirms its role as one of the central tools in the communication strategy of the Consorzio Garda DOC: a format capable of bringing together data, relationships and territory to strengthen the positioning of the appellation on Italian and international markets, while at the same time enhancing the landscape and production heritage of Lake Garda.
These activities form part of the programme of the European project Euchronicles Eccellenze DOP: a savoir faire entirely European, a promotional initiative dedicated to enhancing European agri food excellence, with the aim of strengthening awareness of appellations among operators and consumers.
