Opus One Winery to Host as Honorary Chair

April 9, 2026 (Napa Valley, CA) — Napa Valley Grapegrowers have announced that the 19th Annual Harvest STOMP, presented by John Anthony Vineyards, will be held on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026. Host and Honorary Chair Opus One Winery in Oakville, Napa Valley, will welcome guests for an unforgettable evening celebrating harvest, heritage, and community in the Napa Valley.
Harvest STOMP is produced by the Napa Valley Grapegrowers, a nonprofit organization representing Napa Valley’s growers and defending the integrity of the Agricultural Preserve. At a pivotal time for the wine and grape industry, event proceeds strengthen grower resiliency, advance research, champion best practices, and ensure that working vineyard land remains the defining and highest use of Napa Valley’s landscape. Through education, advocacy, and leadership, NVG safeguards agriculture as both an economic engine and a public good.
“Since 2008, Harvest STOMP has brought together growers, vintners, and community members who share a commitment to preserving Napa Valley’s agricultural heritage and supporting the people who make it thrive,” said Karen Cakebread, President of the Napa Valley Grapegrowers Board of Directors. “Today, NVG proudly produces Harvest STOMP as our signature celebration of viticultural excellence, environmental stewardship, and community. We are thrilled to continue this tradition at Opus One in 2026.”
Opus One provides a setting that reflects the very spirit of Harvest STOMP. Founded as a visionary partnership between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi for a singular Bordeaux-style blend crafted from Napa Valley grapes, Opus One prioritizes the expression of place and the pursuit of uncompromising quality, bridging innovation, collaboration, and precision. Its seamless integration of architecture and vineyard landscape offers a powerful reminder that exceptional wine begins with thoughtful stewardship of the land.
Michael Silacci, Opus One Winemaker and former President of the Napa Valley Grapegrowers Board, shared, “For nearly a decade, I had the privilege of serving on the board of the Napa Valley Grapegrowers, including two years as President. During that time, I witnessed and was continually inspired by the dedication of our local grape-growing community. It is a commitment rooted in the long-term stewardship of the land we love and in uplifting the people whose hands, resilience, and passion make Napa Valley possible. Through Harvest STOMP, that commitment comes to life in meaningful ways for both the Napa Valley Grapegrowers and the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation. It is with great joy that we welcome everyone to Opus One this August.”
Proceeds from Harvest STOMP support NVG’s year-round leadership in education and advocacy, strengthening the resilience and long-term sustainability of Napa Valley grape growing. Event funds help advance research, elevate best practices, and ensure growers remain at the forefront of a dynamic industry.
This year’s Fund-a-Need directly benefits the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation, the region’s only organization exclusively dedicated to advancing farmworkers and their families through education and professional development. This work strengthens long-term opportunity and stability, creating lasting impact across Napa Valley.
More than a celebration, Harvest STOMP is a shared investment in Napa Valley’s future. Together, guests raise a glass and a paddle in support of the people, partnerships, and practices that sustain this extraordinary place.

About Opus One Winery
Opus One was born in 1978 from a visionary partnership between Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Bordeaux and Robert Mondavi of Napa Valley. Meeting at the storied Château Mouton Rothschild, the two vintners laid the foundation for a wine that would transcend borders: a singular Bordeaux-style blend crafted from Napa Valley grapes, brought to life through the collaboration of French and American winemakers. Bound by a shared commitment to excellence and innovation, they were not only creators of exceptional wines but also dedicated patrons of the arts. Their partnership was driven by both craftsmanship and culture, which led them to name their endeavor Opus One, a reflection on their first great composition of a wine created to be a work of art.
