September 4, 2026 — Pinot for the People is a campaign to make premium Willamette Valley Pinot Noir more accessible while raising money for a good cause. This campaign is brought to you by Left Coast Estate and features their 2021 Truffle Hill Pinot Noir as the focus of the promotion. Truffle Hill Pinot Noir is a single vineyard designated wine made from 100% Wadensville clone Pinot Noir and will be available for $25, discounted from the suggested retail price is $55. $8 from each bottle sold will be donated to one of three nonprofits– Willamette Valley Wine Foundation, ACLU of Oregon and Oregon For All –selected by the purchaser. The program is available online through the Left Coast web store and will run from September 15 – November 15th 2026.
Pinot for the People is a two month-long campaign aimed at broadening access to high-quality wine and supporting the essential work of nonprofits. During the campaign, Left Coast will redirect profits from a handcrafted single vineyard Pinot Noir, Truffle Hill, and reinvest it back into wine drinkers (with a 55% discount on bottle sales) as well as a $8 donation per bottle to one of three nonprofits. Across the country, inflation and sluggish growth have stressed consumers’ wallets. The wine industry itself is facing a particularly challenging time with shrinking consumption and oversupply wrecking havoc on wine focused businesses across the country. Left Coast decided to bring back our Pinot for the People campaign during this challenging moment to support our customers, friends and maybe even reach some new people along the way who have been curious about premium Pinot Noir, but felt priced out of the market. “We know that our wine is part of a rarified world,” says Creative Director and Family Ownership, Cali Pfaff. “But we also believe wholeheartedly that wine brings people together. We decided as a family to forgo profits for this effort so that we could share our wine more broadly. We hope, in a small and modest way, that our wine will make someone’s day.”
“We are a second-generation, family-run business and that gives us certain freedoms in decision-making,” says CEO and Family Ownership, Taylor Pfaff. “We realized that in challenging times, people need help and want to help others. To this end we decided to donate the proceeds after our production costs were covered in an effort to support our community more.” The family selected three nonprofits to support through the effort: Willamette Valley Wine Foundation a local nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the homes, health, and livelihoods of workers in wine-growing communities, ACLU of Oregon, a nonprofit to protect civil liberties and civil rights for an equitable and caring democracy in Oregon, and Oregon For All, a statewide coalition working to advance immigrant justice to build a more welcoming and prosperous Oregon for everyone.
The nonprofit partners align closely with Left Coast’s mission and values, including community building, an atmosphere of welcoming and inclusion, and dignity and living wages for agricultural workers. Customers are free to choose which of the nonprofits their proceeds support. The name, Pinot for the People, represents a desire to shake off the pretentiousness and exclusivity often associated with high-quality Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. “We are farmers at our core,” says Taylor. “Our greatest pride as business owners is to be able to support our community and share the fruits of our harvest.”
Left Coast is selling their 2021 Truffle Hill Pinot Noir (90 pts from James Suckling) for $25 and donating $8 from the sale of each bottle. The Pinot for the People promotion is primarily available online through the company’s website, leftcoastwine.com. We will also be offering a similar program to our wholesale partners across the country. “We are so grateful to the restaurants, sommeliers, retailers, distributors, consumers, and wine club members that have supported us over the past 23 years,” says National Sales Director & Co-owner, Shardul Ghogale. “We don’t get to do what we love without the community that supports us. This campaign is our way of giving that support back.”
