Quilceda Creek Expands Red Mountain Presence with Longwinds Vineyard Acquisition

September 9, 2025 — We’re excited to announce that Quilceda Creek Winery has acquired the prestigious Longwinds Vineyard on Red Mountain from The Duckhorn Portfolio. This exceptional property was originally established in 2014 under the guidance of renowned vineyard manager Dick Boushey and developed in partnership with The Duckhorn Portfolio team. Metis served as the exclusive advisor representing The Duckhorn Portfolio.
The proximity to Quilceda Creek’s famed Galitzine Vineyard—just two-thirds of a mile away—creates operational efficiencies while adding fruit with higher tannin and acid levels, providing winemaker Paul Golitzin additional components for creating complex, long-lived wines.
“This is a gorgeous high elevation vineyard, a little closer to the stars,”
says Quilceda Creek winemaker and president Paul Golitzin.
The transaction represents successful vineyard consolidation within premium appellations, where operational synergies and quality enhancement drive strategic value. Our team was able to navigate complex market conditions while achieving optimal outcomes for both seller and buyer in the luxury wine segment. The process produced an ideal buyer match, an on-time closing prior to harvest, and a strong valuation for our client—testament to the value of proper buyer identification, thorough preparation, and a disciplined process while ensuring that exceptional terroir continues under the stewardship of a producer committed to the highest standards of winemaking excellence.
