Serene Modern Camping Destination Invites Wine Lovers & Foodies to Pair a Stay in the Redwoods with Unique Dinner and Tasting
August 11, 2025 (Mendocino, CA) — Mendocino Grove, the acclaimed modern camping destination nestled in the coastal woods of Mendocino’s stunning Northern California coastline, is launching an inaugural wine dinner series to offer guests an intimate dining experience.

“We are thrilled to host our first-ever Wine Dinner Series at Mendocino Grove,” said Teresa Raffo, co-owner of Mendocino Grove. “This is a unique opportunity to celebrate the rich flavors and exceptional craftsmanship of some incredible Northern California winemakers and chefs. We invite guests to join us for an unforgettable evening under the stars, where they can savor exquisite wines paired with gourmet dishes, all while enjoying the natural beauty of our modern camping site. It’s a perfect blend of luxury and nature, and we can’t wait to share this experience with our community.”
Kicking off the series on Thursday, August 21, Mendocino Grove will partner with the PlumpJack Collection of Wineries and Kathy Fang to offer guests a Chinese-inspired multi-course meal. Kathy Fang, renowned for her distinctive approach to Chinese cuisine at her family’s acclaimed restaurants Fang and House of Nanking as well as for her national TV appearances on “CHOPPED” and “Chef Dynasty: House of Fang”, will also include a signed copy of her upcoming cookbook, “House of Nanking: Family Recipes from San Francisco’s Favorite Chinese Restaurant.”Each dish will be paired thoughtfully with wines from PlumpJack Winery, CADE Estate Winery, and Odette Estate Winery, part of the PlumpJack Collection of Wineries. Owned by partners Gavin Newsom, Gordon Getty, and John Conover, the PlumpJack Collection of Wineries is a focused portfolio of world-class, award-winning Napa Valley-based wineries.
The series continues Thursday, September 18, with Gentleman Farmer Wines, a boutique Napa Valley winery founded by husbands Joey Wołosz and Jeff Durham. Gentleman Farmer is known in local circles as one of Napa Valley’s most impressive alternative culinary wine pairing experiences. Jeff and Joey offer intricate and 100% homemade – right down to the homemade mustard, brioche, blinis, rillette, pancetta, terrines, souffles, cassoulets, and pastries – pairing experiences serve as a means of introduction to Gentleman Farmer.
The series wraps up on a high note on Thursday, October 23, with an unforgettable evening hosted by Goldeneye Winery, part of the prestigious Duckhorn portfolio and celebrated for its exceptional Pinot Noir crafted in the heart of Anderson Valley. Guests will be treated to a specially curated, multi-course dining experience prepared by a standout local chef, with each dish thoughtfully paired to highlight the depth and nuance of Goldeneye’s acclaimed wines.
Just up the road from Mendocino Grove, EarthSpoke Farms, a regenerative flower and produce farm specializing in dahlias and other perennial and annual blooms, will also be part of the winemaker dinner series. At each dinner, EarthSpoke will host a bouquet-making stand, where guests can create their own bespoke floral arrangements using freshly harvested flowers from the farm. It’s a playful, hands-on activity that brings EarthSpoke’s values to the table and lets guests take home something beautiful and rooted in the local landscape. Run by a small, passionate team, the farm supplies local chefs and markets with vibrant, organically grown produce and flowers. They also open their fields to the public every Saturday now through October for U-Pick sessions, where visitors can explore the farm and gather their own bouquets.
A ticket for one wine dinner is $250 and can be purchased here. Accommodations can be booked separately. For more information or to book, please visit www.mendocinogrove.com.

About the PlumpJack Collection of Wineries
- PlumpJack Winery (Oakville) – Owned by partners Gavin Newsom, Gordon Getty and John Conover, and operated by the PlumpJack Collection of Wineries, PlumpJack Winery is located in Napa Valley’s famed Oakville AVA. The winery made international headlines in 2000 when it became the first producer to release a luxury wine, its 1997 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, with a screw cap closure. Since joining PlumpJack Winery in 2012, Winemaker Aaron Miller has earned three 100-point Cabernet Sauvignon scores with two Syrahs in the Top 100 Wines of the World.
- CADE Estate Winery (Howell Mountain) – Perched high upon Napa Valley’s Howell Mountain among a dramatic hillside of Manzanita trees, CADE Winery is a unique, state-of-the-art facility producing exquisite Estate Cabernet and enticing Sauvignon Blanc, helmed by winemaker Danielle Cyrot since 2012. Having received its Gold LEED certification in 2009, CADE is considered the greenest winery estate of its size in California.
- Odette Estate Winery (Stag’s Leap) – Located in Napa Valley’s famed Stag’s Leap District. Odette’s winemaker is Andrew Haugen. Following the success of PlumpJack Estate Winery and CADE Estate Winery, Gavin Newson, Gordon Getty, and John Conover opened Odette in 2011. Renowned architect Juan Carlos Fernandez was tasked to design the Stags Leap winery. Like CADE, Odette has LEED Gold certification and California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) for the vineyards. The small, state-of-the-art building is one of the few wineries with a living green roof. In addition, the winemaking laboratory, constructed from recycled shipping containers from China, is the only one of its kind in Napa Valley.
About Gentleman Farmer Wines
Founded by Joey Wołosz and Jeff Durham, Gentleman Farmer specializes in elegantly crafted, old-world inspired wines from sustainability-farmed vineyard sites in Napa Valley. The first vintage was produced in 2005, and the couple offer a unique culinary experience alongside their wines. Partners in business and husbands in life, Joey and Jeff founded their boutique winery as a means of reconnecting with what is real, and what it means to be human in an increasingly digital age. Gentleman Farmer wines are therefore an ode to the tactile, the analog, the acoustic, and the artisanal. In 2023, Joey and Jeff debuted The Gentleman Farmer Bungalow, A Studio for Gustatory Well-Being, a remodeled 1926 California craftsman bungalow in downtown Napa, offering social experiences modeled after the intimate (and rare!) experience of dining in a winemaker’s home.
About Goldeneye Winery
Goldeneye began making acclaimed Pinot Noirs from its estate winery in the Anderson Valley in 1996. Guided by Winemaker Kristen McMahan, Goldeneye is dedicated to crafting wines of refinement and elegance from a rich palette of terroir-inspired fruit that includes three Estate vineyards planted to 15 clones of Pinot Noir on numerous different rootstocks. Reflecting the Mendocino Coast’s unique marine influences, sites and soils, these grapes create complex, elegant Pinots. To further enhance natural depth and distinctiveness, only a small percentage of the finest fruit is selected for each vintage, before applying small-lot, artisan winemaking techniques.
